The bear catches a waft of his scent and rears up onto it's hind legs. Standing only 7ft tall it's not as big as they were expecting but it roars and charges Lorundil all the same.

Lorundil draws his bow and aims for the bear's roaring head. He aims to fire through its mouth while squinting his eyes and steadying his breathe with concentration focuses solely on the bear.

The arrow hits its mark and the bear assisted by Lord Algen falls limply onto it's side.
"Good shot lad! You preserved the head for a clean mounting! well done!"
He withdraws the spear from the bear and wipes it. "This will make for a fine trophy. You did well."

"Thanks Lord Algen. I think you deserve the trophy though as you did kill the bear basically. If it wasn't for you that Bear would be having me for dinner but I wouldn't have even made it this far if you hadn't killed that monster. Should we get back to your home?" Spoke Lorundil out of breath from the unexpected amount of dodging required to survive.

Six men in chainmail armour led by a man in plate all mounted, ride into the clearing and approach them both. the dogs still dancing about them. The lead man has a sneer on his face and anger in his eyes. He rides straight up to Lord Algen, pointing a finger accusingly at him.
"That's it Algen! I have had enough of your poaching on my lands! That bear was mine!"
The men are all armed, tho none have drawn their blades, bows or spears.

"Hold. Leave Lord Algen alone. I killed the bear not him. If you want to persecute anyone then persecute me. This bear was attacking locals and needed to be stopped. Who are you anyway?" Said Lorundil in a polite innocent voice.

And you!" He focuses his statment on the new Lord, "are just in time to witness my victory over a beast thats been killing my foresters."
"Not possible!"
"Are you seriouse? I may be old but still a very capable hunter Fernier."
"Not that you daft old coot!"
Lorundill notices that the other men are just sat there with calm faces, they are obviously used to their interactions.
"This cound not possibly be the bear attacking your men."
"And why not?"
"It was released last night especialy for my hunt."
Lord Algen looked to the bear then to Lord Fernir. "Seriously?"
"Yes! again you have spoiled my activties! again! I demand restitution!"

"Sorry Lord whoever you are we need to be off as according to you there is still a bear on the loose who could kill more innocents. I don't care for your petty squabbles with Lord Algen over this land and hunting issues. Perhaps you should clean out the horrors that infest your forests instead of playing hunter. While being in that forest we were attacked by giant spiders, half human half spider creature and loads of other creatures that were lurking in the dark watching our every move no doubt." Spoke Lorundil to the other Lord.

"Fernier!" Lord Algen interupts, "I will pay you your restitution. Say 100 gold pieces for the ruin of your hunt. However my hunsman is right. If this be not the bear, then we must continue. We shall head to the woodsmans hut within my borders but be aware should we find the bear has traveled to your lands it will become your problem, not mine."
"Very well, I agree to your terms Lord Algen." He turns his horse and whistles. The Wolfhounds bay and follow after their master. One of the soldiers ropes the bear to a skid and they follow after him.
"Well that was a kick in the bollocks." muttered Lord Algen as he watches them all leave.

"So you didn't get that Bear's head. We know he never killed it." Laughed Lorundil. "Who cares about that bear anyway. Joke will be on him when you get a larger bear head put up in your hall." Continued laughing Lorundil.
"You're a much better hunter than him anyway. You were willing to come out here alone to stop a bear from preying on the innocents. While he arrived with an armoured force to kill a bear that was smaller than the one we are hunting. I think we should hunt that bear even if crosses the border. I understand if you don't want to due to relations between your areas could be made worse. Your call though." Spoke Lorundil.
"We off then?" Asked Lorundil with a smile on his face.

The pair of them set off once more into the forest. The days heat cooled by the trees shade.
As the night began to draw in the insect life of the forest awoke. Clouds of mayflies hung in the air and they both were plaged by bites.
The Woodsmans hut sat dark in a small clearing of it's own. Rabbits darted here and their as they began their approach. Lord Algren stopped. "I just realised we have not eaten all day and I dont know about you but I'm famished. Tag us a couple of those rabbits before they all scatter and we can roast them for supper, will you."

Lorundill's arrow flies straight and true into the floor missing the rabbits. They skitter off into the undergrowth.
Lord Algren laughs. "I will set some snare while we get a fire going and some warmth in the hut. Chances are come supper time well have one or two by then."
He enters the dark hut and begins to make preparations.

Lorundil looks embarrassed at failing to hit a rabbit with an arrow and enters the hut to help with the preparations if Lord Algen needs them.

"I came over from the Elven Isles a short time ago. Back when my family hadn't been killed by the ravaging forces of Chaos and their minions. But when I was with some Elves who were also volunteers within a party they were returning home I was greeted by a messenger from the High Elven commanders who said my family, village and previous life were completely destroyed by Chaos and their minions. So I thought it would be best to get away from the world I knew and try to help out then others nearby on foreign lands as their was nothing of the High Elven lands for me apart from it being my homeland. I would like to return one day if I can." Said Lorundil shed a tear or two when remembering his former life before Chaos attacked.
