[Talon Lord Othrim]

Lorundil's vision begins to swim and blur as he tries to search for anything he can use. Eventually as the Manticores poison works his way through his system everything goes dark and he passes out.....

Lorundil can feel cool water on his skin. His face can feel the breeze of the mountain air and his shoulder, where there should be intence agony, only a dull ache. Slowly opening his eyes he can see the captive he previously freed leaning over a fire. The smell of food cooking filled his nose and his stomach grumbled. He had forgotten how long it had been since he had eaten last. In fact he had no idea how long he had been out.

Lorundil quickly find words "Where am I? Who are you? How long have I been unconscious? Where is that flying beast?"

The man turns, he could still see the bruises on his face tho they had lessoned. "Shhh steady friend" he replies and fetches you a cup of water. " You have been out for nearly 3 days. The Manticores poison ravaged your system. I had thought you dead for a short while but I see your will to survive is stronger. I am Flick Thane, a court mage by trade. I was on my way to Helgrad when I was ambushed by those goblins you valiantly drove off." He laughed, " I was hoping to see the army of men you mentioned to help fight off the beast and when none came I realised the truth of your words. To risk your life for a stranger alone against a whole goblin warband. Your either very foolish or very brave. Either way I can thank you enough."

Lorundil took small sips of the cup of water until it was all gone. After finishing he wiped his mouth and spoke "Well the Goblins I wasn't sent to track down but they are the same Goblins who had been preparing to take this land from Lord Algen. We stopped their original camp by making them flee after killing a bear they had tamed that was almost twice the size of a normal bear."

"It was no problem in helping save you from the Goblins. You easily repaid the favour when you stopped the Manticore having me for breakfast." Laughed Lorundil.

He chuckle too then held his ribs with a wince. "Aye well the little buggers did a number on me to. Will you be returning to your lord when you are rested? I ask only because I am going to make my way to Heldegrad. Your more than welcome to join me if you wish."

"I would be more than happy to journey with you but I don't have any weapons after the Goblins took them. Do you have a bow or sword that I could use if the Goblins return?" Asked Lorundil.

"I took the liberty to look around while you were incapacitated. They left in rather a hurry thanks to your trick. I managed to find a couple of short bows and some arrows and some of their short swords and daggers."

He shows you the weapons. They are smaller than your used to. The bows would only cover half the distance of your old bow and the arrows flighted with scruffy black crow feathers. It makes Lorundil wonder how they managed to hit anything with them. The swords simerly are short and thick, flecked with rust spots and dried blood of some unknown source, but with a bit of work could be made sharp and useable.

"Goblin weapons. Better than no weapons I guess. Thank you." Said Lorundil trying the weapons out.

"How long until we set off?" Asked Lorundil.

"Well," he replies, "when you feel up to it we can go. I have managed to scrap up some provitions and judging by the fur's you have there your a hunter?"

"As soon as possible would be best." Spoke Lorundil then answering the other question. "Oh and yes I am a hunter. A bit new to the hunting but I am getting better." Laughed Lorundil.

"Well if we head northeast we should pick up the river that will lead us to Zvorak then it's simply picking up the road to Arnalos, Cabanal then up to Heldegrad. About 3 maybe 4 days travel depending on weather and hopefully no complications."

He poured some water over the fire and kicked dirt over it making sure it was out. He picked up a bundle on a stick made out of the goblins tents than a stout staff of would almost as tall as himself.
Lorundil still felt a little unsteady on his feet but it was bearable.

"We best get a move on then. Faster we get the better. Don't want to spend to long in a area filled with Goblins and whatever else." Spoke Lorundil as he steadied himself.

It did not take them long to find the river and it was a plesant walk onto Zvorak. They talked and Lorundil learnd that Flick had not long since graduated at the college of Chamon. He was a metal mage. His first duty was to be in the employ of a wealthy blacksmith in Heldegrad and assist him in his business.

By early evening they could see the spires of Zvorak.

"Do you have funds for a boarding house?" Flick asked as they approached the town.

Lorundil checked his pockets and only had his gold taken from him when the Goblins took his possessions and looked back at Flick and spoke "Afraid not. The Goblins took all I had on me."

He nods "Then I shall sort out our shelter for the night. I too was stripped of anything of value but this," He indicates his staff, "They did not see it's value. Come I owe you and drink."

They made their way into the quiet town. Several Inns were situated around the central square. They found themselves in the warm embrace of "The Gilded Willow". There were a few travelers already staying there by the looks of their clothing. Merchants mostly, the smell of cooking food and a stout ale hung in the air.

"Well if you are offering I would love an ale after the travel we just had." Laughed Lorundil.

"Any idea how much accommodation will cost?" Questioned Lorundil.

[Talon Lord Othrim]

"For a metal Mage able to turn lead to gold," he laughs, " they will beg us to stay with them lol."

A hush fills the air as they begin to cross to the counter. Lorundil could feel their eyes watching

"Well if you can do that then you will be welcome anywhere." Laughed Lorundil.

Lorundil feeling a sense of unease at the eyes watching their every movements decides to take a quick look himself while walking to the counter.
