[Talon Lord Othrim]

As he looked he realised they were not as presentable as the other patrons. Bloodstained and dirty clothing, the tattered furs and goblin weaponry. In any normal situation he probably would have done the same.

Lorundil forgot about his clothing as he had been wearing it for sometime and so had the mage Flick. So Lorundil just ignored the patrons who began to stare and followed Flick to the counter.

After a little negotiation and a brief display of Flick's credentials rooms and food was organised and also a change of clothing. Nothing fancy but adiquate and devoid of holes, tairs and blood stains.

Once sutibly attired, washed and ready they sat in the main inn enjoying a well deserved hot meal and a drink.

"So Lorundil, what plans have you, appart from accompnying me to Heldgrad that is?"

"Don't really have one. Just going like a breeze across the lands. Going where someone needs help really. Having a plan isn't my thing. Thought you could have got that when the Goblins surrounded me." Laughed Lorundil.

He laughs at the memory. "Well I have to admit rescuing the rescuer was an interesting twist."

During the coarse of the evening they ate and drank while bards played and sang.

Lorundil couldn't tell how long it had been since a kind of quiet day without creatures trying to kill him.

Lorundil enjoyed the evening and it went into the night soon. Lorundil retired to the room Flick had got for himself and Lorundil. Lorundil from recent days had become cautious of all places even if they seemed to be free of enemies.

The bed is comfortable and all chests and wardrobes in the room, free from gribblies. Sleep is restfull.

The following morning Lorundill wakes. Bird song fills the air. Looking around the room it dawns on him that Flick had not made it to bed that night. Mayhap he found the company of a young woman. He had many of them hanging round him once they found out about his chosen path in the school of magic.

Lorundil awoke with a rest he hadn't had in which felt a lifetime and soon after taking himself out of the bed he looked around for some clothes that might have been left there by a previous patron. He couldn't be staying in a town wearing bloodstained tattered rags for however long they were staying here.

At the bottom of one of the travelers chests Lorundil finds a simple linen shirt and a pair of breeches.

Finding the clothes Lorundil changes into them. They aren't a perfect fit but they are close enough so that Lorundil will be fine in these clothes.

After changing Lorundil went down to find Flick to know what their next move was to be.

Lorundil asked the Inn keeper "Excuse me do you know where that mage I was with is? I haven't seen him since sleeping and would like to know where he is." Smiled Lorundil as he asked.

"Last I saw of him he was leaving with Gesel. Ha ! I'd check round the hay barn if I know her. Most likely he'll be passed out with a lighter coin purse I'll wager but with a smile on his face"

"Thank you. I will check there first." Spoke Lorundil as he set off to the barn.

As Lorundil made it to the barn he searched around.

Horses stabled within their stalls watch Lorundill lazily. As he looks about he can see a tall ladder reaching up into the hay loft. Tho very cliche he figured that's there they wound most likely be.

As Lorundil climbed the ladder to search around he did a quick check for Flick once he reached the top of the ladder.

Half buried in the mound of hay Flicks disheveled clothing and boots can be seen. Upon closer inspection the naked body of Flick lays motionless. Lorundill can small the iron twang of blood.

Lorundil after seeing Flick's body goes in for a closer inspection of Flick's body for a wound or information on what has happened to Flick.

It does not take much inspecting to notice that Flick certainly does have a smile but is not on his face. His throat has been slit from ear to ear.

Lorundil instantly shocked by what has happened searches the surrounding area for anything that may have a clue to what caused Flick to have his face torn open.

Flicks clothes are strewn around and as Lorundil searches he can see the arterial spray from where his throat was cut. A single clean gash right down to the bone in one place. There are no ragged edges to the gash so whatever made it was very sharp.

Lorundil knows that most of the common blades that would belong to the locals wouldn't be able to deliever a strike like this. A farm tool might be able to though. So Lorundil goes to check the farm tools that might be within the Barn.
