Bethor followed in behind the Templar. "well lets hope this whole trip was not a waste I was ready for a fight at the landing pad perhaps the reports are merely rumors."

"I suggest having our weapons ready for an attack but go in with them not drawn,that way we will be ready for an attack yet still not seem threatning to the native population"

"the population dont trust the imperium already, we dont need to give them more reason, keep your weapons down, but your eyes open. we need to find the imperial delegation, get the info we need and move with our objective, we dont need to many eyes on us, so try not to draw too much attention to us"

Bethor lowered his multi melta to his waist and continued to walk saying nothing.

Brother Crowthor continues to walk towards Haistand, both chainswords are attached to his waist and his bolt pistol is folded down with the red dot turned off. He holds his helmet under his right arm and remands silent for the rest of the trip.

As your team leaves the landing site and begins their ascent up the snaking road you pass by large numbers of the native inhabitants making their way along the same path. The natives are tall, you see no adult member of the population under 6'4. They are all well muscled and fit, clad in tribal skins and furs for clothing.

Many walk with large reptilian beasts, and a few ride bipedal lizards (reminiscent of velociraptors). As you make your way up you notice the reaction from the people is not the palpable awe you are used to receiving from mortals, instead the people seem to express an odd curiosity at your battleplate and weapons. Many being slow to move aside as you make your way. You sense no fear among the populace as you pass.

About halfway up the zigzagging path you spot a middle-aged Aurun prodding some of the large reptilian creatures along with a whip and spear, lashing at any of the herd that stops moving or makes an aggressive motion.

As you pass by the heard, one of the Reptillian creatures sniffs at Bethor. Without warning the creature lets out a shrieking roar. The Aurun cracks his whip furiously, but it is too late. The other reptiles pick up the cry and the herd erupts into violence.

Tarrus lumbers forward, moving his mechanical bulk between the xenos beast and his squad , his massive mechanicus poweraxe sparking to life. He swung his weapon at the nearest of the creatures, aiming to cut it in half.

Hannibal grab his combat knive and prepared to counter the first creature that move towards him.

"Do not use the bolter, try not to scare the people!!!" yell to the squad

Davian draws his powersword and bolter shooting two controlled and acvurate bursts into the herd of.xenos

Bethor swings his massive multi melta in an attempt to clear the space between himself and Tarrus' right flank. Bethor then grabs for the whip from the mortal in an attempt to get the bulk of the herd under control.

"Try not to kill the creatures!!!" yell Hannibal. he then throw himself to the creature that appear to be the pack leader, to try to calm the beast.

Brother Davious puts on his helmet, draws both chainswords and stands to prevent any melee attacks on the devastator, he stands in a fully defensive stance. 'Hold your own brothers do not make the first attack, these feral beasts are nothing compared to the xenos we have faced.'

Tarrus reacts immediately, hefting his power ax as the beasts break out in mayhem. His strike is true, but the beast's possess thick sinuey hide and his blade chops deep into ones neck partially severing the head as it flops about before falling to the ground.

Davian's shots find their mark on a reptillian beast, but the thick scales seem to reduce much of the weapon's impact. Now enraged the beast charges, and several others follow suit.

Bethor's Multi-Melta fires out its deadly blast liquifying one lizard beast as it has the misfortune of running in his line of fire, three Aurun civilians are likewise reduced to nothing by the deadly weapon caught in the line of fire. Making a move for the herdsman's whip Bethor reaches out and grabs it, but the herdsman tears it out of the Astartes' grip with surprising strength.

As Hannibal takes up his defensive stance and calls out orders, he is able to observe the happenings and through his helmet's lenses he sees the herd of beasts are attacking the natives as wel. His attention is particularly drawn to a little girl trapped between the edge of the road and a steep fall of hundreds of meters, and a reptilian beast bearing down on her.

Davious prepares himself to defend Bethor, and the beasts blindly raging are happy to oblige. One rushes at Davious going for a bite on his upper torso and he dodges aside from the gaping maw, driving both chainswords up into its lower jaw, where the blades tear apart flesh and bone emerging out the creature's skull.
