To be just, our law must be cruel.
To stand upon the bedrock of law is our great duty. To presume to stand above it is our worst heresy.
We determine the guilty. We decide the punishment.

We got the trilogy and noticed it was connected to a board game. Turns out Battletech was a hexed based miniature game. After buying that too we left and learned how to play the basic rules (for those who don't know this game can be very complicated and has a lot more pen and paper work than say 40k). Of course then we find out that there are more mechs than what came in the starter set and that you can paint the models to make them look cooler. Lucky for us Sci-Fi World had a Golden Deamon winner on staff who also played and he got my dad and I painting.
Two years later I finally convince my dad to buy the Space Marine tactical squad and a Predator tank (metal plastic box turret one). That was the first step into 40k which has lasted 16 years and counting. Poor mom never saw that one coming when she picked that book off the shelf.
Damn few, and they're all dead!

Good game bit rule heavy for a kid though. Was set up really well to introduce you to the full game though. Heck even if you know all the rules it can be fun to play the simpler version just to save time. Being hex based meant you could record which spot mechs and buildings were in and pack it up for later which is nice too. Been years since I played though, no one around here does anymore.

My first run in with 40k was Dawn of War then i read the whole back story of the Space Marines and the Imperium as a whole aswell as the civil war which broke out between loyalist and rebel astartes this got me into reading Horus Heresy series and then further reading based on Ultrasmurfs and Redemption Corp *Imperial Guard* then i started reading stuff about Night Lords aswell as Iron Warriors and Word Bearers now im looking at getting the new novel based on the World Eaters aswell as Imperial Glory.
Ide like it if my boys got into 40k when they're older but that i will leave to them to decide.
Ave Dominus Nox!

I'm probably one of the few people still in love with all the 2006 models. I miss my metal daemons...

After a couple of days i finally began to understand the english it wasnt that hard and soon i began to make friends then one day my parents told me we were going out to downtown to a mall called if memory serve me *ital-center** something like that after walking for a couple of hours i lost sight of my parents me being just a kid i got a little scared and started looking for my parents
With out any clue of my parents location i started to walk around once more then sundenly i heard a noise i turned back to see what it was to my surprise it was just some yelling at his kids then i turned back again and i hit my self with this big piece of cardboard i felled down and i looked up to see the image of a crimson fist i do remember that it was pedro kantor
I got a little scared when some one you can say *clad in power armour*(his costume), he walked close to me and spoke *hey little guy are you ok?* i was petrified even if it was a costume i havent seen anything like it before i managed just a few words *yea im ok* then he picked me up and asked if i was lost well yea what else i was lost and scared he just said *dont worry i will find your parents*
Then he toke me inside of the shop there was a tournament going on they were lots of people inside playing with their armys then he took off his helmet and he introduced his self **hey there little guy my name is christopher you can call me cris whats your name?* plain and still scared *im alam with an M not with N* he stared at me *your not from here little guy right?* *nop im from mexico* then he said *dont be scared let me make a phone call to the security guards and your parents will be here in minutes* i just gave him a big happy smile he laughed and told me *hey wanna go see the others play?* i was happy and i wasent scared anymore *yes!*
while my parents were making their way to the shop i immediately falled for the universe of warhammer 40k after a while i saw my parents in the entrance of the shop my mother being soo lovely yelled *you little fucker! (of course in spanish and with more rudeness) she hugged me and checked me to see if i was ok then she and my dad stared at cris and thanked him
After this whole stuff that happend in a day i thanked cris for taking care of me he then grabbed what it was a miniature of a tactical marine with a bolter and a combat knife he gave it to me to my surprise it was painted as a raven guard (coincidence hahaha thats where my love for the combat knife came) then we both said good bye
And thats how i got into WH40k played the games eventually to the moment space marine came out after that event i went visiting the shop when ever i could even thou im back in mexico i still go to canada to visit my friends on vacations and ofcourse i visit cris at the shop i know it was a whole wall of text but i think its worth sharing
