Easy way to tell is if your stat line has a movement value or not. They removed individual movement values in 3rd and have kept them gone since. So if your guys stat line is WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv you have 3rd or later. If it is M WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv you have 2nd, and 1st is a giant book that says Rogue Trader, and I doubt many people have that.

I think I got it all figured out, might need experience with getting a game set up but I think I get it.
