bert says as he continues to work the armor easily.

 

"Now.....I know you want this this...But realize that using this will be difficult...... The amror is designed to feed off of a host until they die......There will be side affects, if they get too painful to control were going to have to find a ghoul forger.....I think you sahould be ok though."

 

grabbing the next peice bert sighs.

 

"How much do you know about the world currently."

Kombuse shrugged at the 'whole lot' comment, he was asked to tell his story. But when Bert asked about Kombuse's knowledge of the world, the boy was quiet for a bit with a hesitant look. "....Not much really, stayed in Hoboken mostly with Talos and Nash." He admitted while he scratched his neck. "Yea, and that's an understatment." Ozer-ga huffed inside Kombuse's head. He looked at the armor plate in the pinch of the pliers Bert was using. "Guess I'll have to be sure to eat often I guess." The ghoul boy laughed nervously.

"SO ima catch you up......Nightmare is getting stronger...YOu know him right boy?"

 

He asks as he stops hammering.

 

"Some people keep fighting.....But some think its a lost cause.... But i hear tell that may be changing soon."

When Bert asked him if Kombuse knew about nightmare, the boy could only nod his head as the memories of what happened in the town he used to live in when he was a child and the mental images of...something when that ghoul tried to get into his mind. "If people think its a lost cause, maybe they should off themselves to spare the resources." Ozer-ga scoffed in the boy's head at the idea of any living thing giving up on survival. "What sort of news sir?" Kombuse asked, not voicing what the ghoul said since even he didn't like it.

he says the words as if  speaking of an ancient horror.

 

"The one who made people like who made talos...HE supposedly found something that will drive hime back to the crack he came out from."

"For someone who's supposedly saving us, you said his name like he's more like a boogey man and that kind of scares me Mr.Bert." Kombuse admitted, unsure how to feel about this person that the black smith mentioned. And what was weirder is that Ozer-ga seems to be refusing to even comment on this, it felt like he was anxious bout this name alone. "....Why?" The boy would finally asked.

his jaw clenches and he sets his hammer down.

"Sit....Lets talk."

the small man opens a flask and drinks a long pull, as if steadying himself.

"Augustus very much is...the best and worst thign that has ever happened to this world... He helped people survive the fall of hukmanity...and through his tinkering people like Talos was made....But the cost of tampering with things...could be high.''

 

he motions to where the woman slept, her body motionless and continues.

"We got the ability to do great things...Hell look at you..... But that made whole new problems... Depending on who you ask he is a hero...others want him dead and burned for the things he did to humanity."

"I am a product of Nightmare, nothing more, nothing less."  Ozer-ga complained bitterly at the implication of being something tinkered by Augustus. "....Do you think the cost will be worth it if it saves people still?" Kombuse asked Bert. "Or at least something better than everyone is going through now?" he added, wanting to know what the older man thought.

“Do you think things like you aren’t an answer to some kind of problem makin kind posed to him?”

The squat mans says with a laugh.

“You are an answer to something… like everything. Hell even predator ghouls .”

Ozer-ga's words devolved into nothing but grumbles and curses under his breath, not able to make a comeback to that claim what so ever. "If someone needed me as an answer, I guess things are a lot worse than I thought outside of  Hoboken." Kombuse said while rubbing the back of his neck with some nervousness.

The man smiles and puts his shoulder.

“It’s Hoboken kid….. home of frank Sinatra and sadness.”

He smiles a bit and shrugs.

“Just….. felt you should know .”

Kombuse just sort of nodded in response. Both he and the ghoul within him were silent for a while before looking back to the house. "You think she's ok now, or will be?" Kombuse asked now, not sure what else to talk about and didn't like the weird silence that was going on between them and Mr. Bert.

The dwarf sits heavily, reaching into his shirt and pulling out waht looks like a pipe.

"that one? i hope so"

he takes a long drag nd whisps of blue smoke tumble from his lips.

"I mean......Its going to suck...But i have faith in her."

a sudden ring starts him and he looks at it, confused.

"looks like Talos found some raiders holding materials and is calling for you."

Kombuse stood up and dusted himself off real quick when Burt told him. "Can you point me where? Oh, and tell Nash where we went if she comes out and asks too." he said to the blacksmith as he readied to head out to the raider stash.

he gives him the general idea, down the road two miles. 

YOu follow the way, finding what looks like the open mouth of a trail where Talos sits , holding a charred human skull.

"Hey there bud.....How is she..SHe ok?"

"Mr. Bert says she should pull through, Nash is still back there watching over her." Kombuse informed him as he walked up to a spot next to Talos and squatting beside the sitting mutagen user. "You doing alright Talos? Stuff has been kind of rough on you lately." He asked with a concerned look in the structure of the faux gasmask face.

"some say, that hes been merged with a patriarch... .ypou know those god beasts that stalk the wastes and kill ghouls? hes starting some kinda army and striking back at the goverment."

he pulls out a pda and pulls out a picture of reach sanctum, where a gas mask weilding pyromanic could be seen fighting guards.

"He recruits some real characters from waht i heard...Recently ...Ever since those purifiers fanatics got culled, hes supposed to be one of the feew in that order left."

"Wait, you sound like you want to join this guy?" Kombuse asked, not sure if he was picking up what Talos was implying which surprised even Ozer-ga. "You...sure you want to something like that? I know we want to protect our home, but this feels different, like, real big or something." He shrugged.

The younger man looks at kombuse, and his face looks extremely tired .

"its...Its something i feel like i gotta do bud....... The world i knew...is gone. And the people i care about need help. "

he reaches into his pack and pulls out a biut of bread from back home.

"Places like hoboken...... If somone doesnt get up we cant complain when hoboken falls."

This time, Ozer-ga surfaced onto Kombuse's gasmask of a face. "And if, or hell more like when, something shows up at home while we're not and are fucking around somewhere else, what saying you got for that?" The ghoul countered, not liking the idea at all while his mortal host was more on the fence about it, not exactly comfortable with the idea either.
