When the information contained in the codex and the HH series is conflicting as it is then yes I will take the most logical information from both sources and make my conclusion. It seems a bit unfair to call me bias when I run multiple Rps on different chapters as well as running three different table top forces. Don't hate the player hate the editors for letting things get confused.

I play for the Dark Angels because I like the guys in the chapter but they all know Im a Smurf at heart. Plus Dern and I go at about the Johnson and Guilliman.

During the confrontation Leman Russ struck Lion El'Jonson a blow to his head and the two proceeded to wrestle for a day and night without victory for either combatant. When the two finally broke apart, Russ began to laugh - humored by the circumstances the two were fighting over. The Lion was not amused. Seeing the first blow of this quarrel as treacherous, El'Jonson struck Russ unconscious as he was laughing.

That is correct. Russ could not knock out the the Lion with one punch but the Lion could.

I believe that is because Russ would not have used his full might. He was upset and felt slighted. Also the Lion is known for being very untrusting and on guard, I believe he would have been preparing himself for it. Where after wrestling for a day and a half Russ had decided it was stupid and quit. He clearly was relaxed and not paying attention as he was laughing about it, and got rocked.

I love them both but if Russ thought of the Lion as a enemy theres no doubt in my mind who would have walked away.

Its been long stated that the best melee Primarchs are Horus, Angron, and Russ.

Russ struck the Lion first and should have claimed his victory (if he could have ended it) but he saw he could not win and chose to laugh then continue. In a fight you should protect yourself at all times.

That's not a fight. If that's a fight then people rough housing with friends is the same as what is going on in a war. So not the case. Russ was rough housing with his brother that he was annoyed with. The Lion felt slighted and took retribution.

Valid argument, though the opposite side of the coin would be maybe the Lion shouldn't have been such a stick in the mud.
