"Her surgery is going to be a lot more complicated than we originally thought...."He started off, walking over to Nessa. He stood there in front of her, watching her prone form. She had been one of his oldest comrades and they had spent many year working alongside one another, along with Krauss and Tellius. He pressed his hand against her forehead" She's going to be able to feel everything during the surgery....they've run out of anesthetics and other pain relievers."

Krauss was wide eyed by the news. "They are going to try to do bionic transplants with her awake?" He asked kyras, incredulous at the idea. He had seen such operations before and the patient still woke up in pain afterwards. But to be consience when limbs are removed and nerves worked on into the bionic? "Sir, there has to be something that can be done ja? Anything?" He asked him, a sliver of desperation in his tone.

Kyra's looked away from both of them for a moment"It's going to take days for a delivery of supplies, ammo, rations, and most importantly medical, and she doesn't have days."He turned around, gesturing to her shoulder blades." The wounds are infected Krauss, and with a dwindling amount of supplies left, the surgery needs to be done now. They can only hold off the infection for so long."

He rolls the wheelchair toward the windows as he looks at the surrounding the city. "There has to be something that can be scavanged, or found. Maybe another Medical station that was abandoned out there or something." he said as he looked. He looked up to Kyras. "Sir, you have more knowledge than anyone I know, and you argued with the doctor for awhile it seemed. Do you have an idea that could help her?" he asked him, deferring to his knowledge as an inquisitor. He was only a stormtrooper, but he will do what is needed right now even with a broken ribcage.

Kyras shook his head, shooting down all of Krauss's suggestions. He had already brought up those points with the Doctor himself." Short of putting her out of misery, putting her in stasis, and waiting for supplies to arrive, we've got no other options. If she doesn't receive the surgery now, the infections will spread and she'll die." He answered to his fullest ability, stating the fact of the matter bluntly.

He just put his hands together and leaned his head onto them, trying to accept what was going to happen to her. He raised his head as he spoke to Kyras. "......I'm going to be waiting by the operation room doors when they come to take her in, you know that Sir." he said, turning the wheelchair around to wheel move it back to Nessa's side for now.

Kyras shook his head in disagreement "Krauss, I think it's better if you return to your room. The experience isn't going to be pleasant for any-"

"Don't leave my side...."Nessa interrupted their conversation, her eyes still closed. She stirred in her rest, somewhat conscious and having heard most of what they had said." Both....at my....side...."She mumbled incoherently, but the message was clear.

"We'll be there." he told her, taking her hand again as he assured her. "Not going going to leave you alone." he promised her as he held her cold hand, afraid that it might be the last time too. He looked up to Kyras to hear what he had to say now. Krauss wasn't sure he'll be allowed into the room with her, but by the Emperor he would try.

Kyras said nothing, merely confirming his agreement with a nod. He placed his hand against Nessa's head once more. The trio's moment of silence was interrupted by the Doctor at the doorway."A slots just opened up for her. If you two can help, we need to prepare to have her moved."

He looked to the doctor and nodded to him as he wheeled a bit to give the Doctor some room to prepare Nessa with them. He followed the man's insructions and requests when he could.

Thirty minutes, Kyras and Krauss found themselves sitting at two benches outside of the operation room. The hallway was either empty, or all every other patient in the ward had decided that this was the time to stop their moaning. Before beginning, the Doctor approached both of them." I have to warn you both again, this isn't going to be a pleasant experience and there's going to be a lot of....noise. If you decide to head back to your rooms, I won't blame either of you."

Krauss stayed parked silently where he was, right next to the doors of the operating room with his black trench coat on now. He promised Nessa he would be at her side and he was going to keep it. He hand his hands folded on his lap as he sat in the wheelchair, his mood sombre.

"We're sure we can handle it." Kyras assured the doctor with a nod, sitting down at the bench.

"Very well then..."The Doctor sighed. Twenty minutes later the surgery began. The first sound heard was that of the electrical bone saws... and then the screaming began. A shriek of such agonized pain that it chilled Kyras and everyone else in the ward that had heard it to the bone. For several minutes, she wailed in utter pain before it finally stopped. Shock. She had gone into shock.

He waited by the doors ever since the doctor left and went past them. He was still there, hands still clasped, and head now bowed down now. A tear ran down from one of eyes even after trying to keep them in check.This was probably the first and only time that the krieger has actually cried, the guilt he felt ever pressing down. He failed to keep someone he cared for from getting hurt and now he felt it again now during the operation.

"I've wondered since our fateful encounter with that Chaos Lord, how he managed to beat us...." Kyras spoke, trying to get Krauss's thoughts away from Nessa's surgery.

Krauss shook his head as if being snapped out from being deep in his own thoughts. "Sir?" he inquiered, wondering what the Inquisitor has thought of chaos lord since their last encounter. Though the subject changed, he still felt what he was feeling earlier.

"You saw his face didn't you Krauss? There was not a sign of taint upon is skin. The way he moved, beyond the speed and agile of an Astartes, stronger than Tellius. And this was Tellius we were talking about... " Kyras went on, sitting back against the chair, hands propped up against his chin.

"Maybe unseen augmentics?" Krauss offered as he thought about it. Other than that, he wasn't sure what else it could be after the obvious choices have already been eliminated by the Inquisitor. "Genetic manipulation?" he added too. Afterall, Krieg use the vitawombs given by the Adeptus mechanicus to create more soldeirs for the Emperor and the Imperium due to the radioactive fallout of their homeworld.

"They'd have to be on a high scale for him to give off such a pure appearance...but then again, we should never underestimate the Arch-Enemy's capacity for innovation." Kyras noted with a nod.

Krauss shrugged. "Maybe a cogboy would have an answer for it." he offered to Kyras. He tried to think of other possiblilties, but none really come to him so far that they haven't already discussed. He glance over to the doors beside him as he sat there.
