To all who experienced the whackyness of the site in the last half hour you have my apologies; I had to disentangle something from the server and it went absolutely mental in response.
For those who experienced outages that exceeded 30 minutes, this issue was caused by people having https://website cached/bookmarked instead of http://website. You can proceed to facepalm now

We were only down (and intermittently) for 30 minutes, the rest of the downtime was herpaderp downtime from people having silly bookmarks (hence my mass email)
