[Armoured Priest]

You watch the news with horror, china has fallen. The reporter on the tv drones about how the public is safe , but you know better. People have been going missingand violent attacks are becoming the norm and school has been canceled after a student hospitalized a teacher.



You look away from the tv, it's closing time and your wife is making your favorite meal.

As you pull the blinds your bell rings showing an unmarked number

Steven picks up the phone and hesitates slightly before pressing the button to answer,
"Ye hello, Wyat fresh meats?"

Your wife answers you, she's frantic an her voice is strained.

" Steve , something's happened. The principal called and said that the teacher that was hospitalized killed four students... It's gruesome Steve.... He rippe them apart..."

"Karren calm down. Where are you now and where is Michael?"

He's with me... The police chief called all of the paret and let us know.."

You can hear the trembling in her voice.

" do you think this has something to do with the rumors?"

"I don't know love, I'm closing up now just got to clean the block then I'll be on my way. Do you need anything on the way?"

She seems to compose herself.

" stop by the market and get me some lemons for dinner tonight.... I need to smoke ill see you when you get home love."


You hear the phone click and go silent.

The sound of a police siren blares by and you can hear people murmmering on the street.

"Bye love," he says to noone. He replaces the phone on the stand and looks out the shop front window. Picking up the rasp he begins to file away the block ready to tomorrow morning.

The police are escorting a body, covered by Asher into why looks like a riot truck.

The officers keep the public back as best as twy can as the truck closes and takes off

Stev finishes rasping the block and swills down. He finishes up and locks up.

His motorbike is parked on the lot reserved for traders so with helmet in hand he makes his way.

A your suiting up their is a light clack, and you turn around to see what looks like hector , the town drunk stumbling at you.

His skin is pallid and blotched, his eyes white and glossy. A wicked bite mark is seen on his wrist and he is babbling incoherently

He calls out. "Hay Hector. Sorry man I ain't got anything for you today. You ok? You look like you've hurt yourself there."

Hector stumbles at you, raising his hands and you notice his lips are ravaged and torn, his eyes roll as he lunges at you, fumbling over your buck as slamming face fire Ito the groud

"Hector what the fuck?!" Stev gets on his bike and puts his helmet on. Starting the engine he looks to see where the drunken street bum is.

the bum is clawing himself to his feet, teeth missing from his face as putrid , blackish blood leaks from his face.

Steve kicks out at the still rising bum with hopes to unbalence him and throttles out leaving him.

its quiet, the night is cool and you quickly come to your house all the lights are on and you can smell dinner being cooked.

Putting his bike to bed in the garage he closes the large port door and goes into the house. He takes off his leathers and places them in their usual place by the door, his helmet and gloves resting on top.

Walking down the hallway into the kitchen he looks for Karren. "It's like Vagas here, you getting scared of the dark?" talking loudly hoping an answer your give him a clue.

You find your wife draining some noodles and she smiles at you warmly.

She motions at the den where the dinner table is .

" says hes from the government."
