The ork bellows as the shots plow into his belly, ripping out entrails and pooling them on the floor, slumping to the ground it dies. Only to be squashed by another armoured foot thirty times bigger. A Gargantuan. The scout turns to you "I think its time to run!"

nods and jumps in to the pilots seat of the Valkyrie,

Cross climbs into the valkyrie and grabs the heavy bolter mounted in there " get us out of here assassin"

Kick starts the engines. "is every one in?" the first words the others have heard him utter

Cross checks the rest of rear compartment seeing the scout and other commando he nods then answers " yes we're here" looking at the spot where the other commando was killed

the engines roar as the assassin takes off, rotating and allowing cross a broadside into the hangar

The gargantuan's mega cannon fires into life and as it launches the hanger explodes in a wisp of flame taking the command HQ with it. Through the windows you see that everything below is awash wih flame. Trees topple, buildings collapse, ammo depots combust and bodies burn. The gurad regiments on the west collapse and are butchered, none survive. "Now you know what it fels like. To watch everything burn and emerge as the only survivors. You think we could of done more so do I. But I have mastered that feeling...almost" The scout punches the side plating leaving a small dent. Seconds later there is a rumble and a further explosion. Looking out you see the leftern engine is blown. "errm...that wasn't me" the scout straps on his parachute "Brace for impact we're going down!" the flier crashes through the trees and into the murky swamp beneth their canopies

the valkrie smashes through branches, tearing through thrunks, scattering animals andripping open is fuelsilage, it begins to burn. the scout turns to the commando, "you alright" he doesn't answer. The scout shakes him, but the commandos head rolls to the side. His neck is broken "Well this is a right balls up eh lads? C'mon lets get out of here before this thing explodes" with that he begins to stumble off into the undergrowth

cross grabs his gear and the equipment from the dead commando and sprints from the wreckage sweeping the area for threats while the rest of the squad gather on his position

as your small team stumble into the murky waters of the swamp the valkrie begins to smoke and combust, but before it explodes it sinks into the depths, leaving only a ripple from the explosion

Cross looks through the kit he grabs and then places it inside his pack. "right lads lets see where we are and where we need to go" he says as he checks his wrist mounted computer

inside the kit you find a medical kit, some rather outlandish books featuring some cadian women and a vox, looking around you see nothnig but trees, as far as the eye can see. You must of crashed only a few hundred miles from the HQ, the untouched side of the planet, the forbbidden side.

"throne we're neck deep in grox shit here lads" Cross tunes the vox into his suits comm system and listens to the general chatter. checking his map he looks for the location he was supposed to go to kill the warboss and the location of any extraction points from the planet.

The warbosses location is on the farthernmost reaches of the western planetside. For the time being your stuck here. the scout has reported a small village not to far, an estimated range of fifty clicks north and a rogue gretchin camp to the west at around 500metres. "They're working on a gargantuan, by the looks of things there is a big mek supervising them sir. But it is up to you. Where are we off?"

"lets look at this grot village if it aint to big lets see if we can destroy the gargant before we head to the village an call me Cross im only a private, nothing more". Cross stands and preps his heavy bolter, looking at the tanith scout he motions towards the village "you wanna scout in front and keep us informed we'll use channel 110.44 to talk it seems to be the quietest channel we got at the moment, you ready assassin?"

"use 162.73, it is a quiet channel" he says cycling through the channels. motions for the scout to lead

"Use any fething channel, everyone was wiped out. But yeah sure thing. I'll keep you posted" the scout moves off into the wilderness. "Ermm, you may wanna get outta the way. They were further than i thougt, and it wasn't a gargantuan, it was a squiggoth. and guess what?"

Cross moves away heading quickly toward the nearby human settlement leaving the squiggoth behind. "head to the human settlement" the only words he says as he moves keeping his eyes open for trouble
