Between November the 9th -11th there is a large charity event being run based on Space Marine for the 360.
It's purpose is to raise money for those wounded in the Middle East wars desperately need. These brave men and women were sent to fight wars in other nations at the word of their leaders, and then when they return home they are often given the bare minimum in treatment and subsidies by their governments. This effort will raise money to help pay for some of the things that they need.
The event is being spear headed by the Space Wolves and promoted by THQ, Gothic Wars and hopefully Games Workshop. You don't have to donate money, but obviously even a little will go a long way. It's not chapter based, you can attend as individuals or groups.
For those interested, Skotten's official post regarding the event is in the Spoiler below (because it's a massive wall of text). I suggest you all have a read through it; you may not agree with the wars themselves, but these people do need the help that this event can bring.
Gothic Wars is endeavouring to run tournaments continually for the benefit of the Space Marine part of our community. However there will be no tournament games running the weekend of this event, so you won't need to worry about game schedule clashing!

Greetings Battle Brothers and Sisters.
I am pleased and excited to announce a Space Marine event that everyone who takes part in will remember for a very long time, and that for those that come after will say they wish they had been there.
This is also not just another tournament, or completion though, this is an opportunity to take part in something that will give help to a wounded hero and their family.
Please have a look at the following two links, they are still somewhat under construction, but it is never to early for people to start expressing an interest, and it is certainly no true that donations need wait either.
Whether you can take part in the event or not, we would be extremely gratefull if members would print the below flyer and have it posted up somewhere to allow this event to have the greatest chance of being the huge success it has the potential to be.
Additionally if anyone would like me to send them the flyer as a PDF/word doc. please send me a message and i will forward them to you as they were somewhat clearer than the image. The ideal places to approach would be your local Games Workshop store, any independent stockist of the models, bookstores that sell the Black Library literature, tabletop gaming clubs, and anyone who sells video games.
To date we have THQ on board with this and they will be posting the event on their facebook, twitter and web pages.
Also i am currently in talks with Games Workshop in regard to their contribution, and though it is so far unclear as to what level of commitment this will be, the fact they responded at all bodes well, I also have a meet arranged at Games Day UK with them.
Initially we are not considering people joining on a Chapter level, but more as individuals, and should the event have the hoped for numbers, it will be vital to have players of the calibre found here to be able to spread out, among the more "casual" players to assist in organising, and also experienced in playing the game in ways different from standard public games. We are however not opposed to people wishing to join as a team, and should this be desired we will attempt to accommodate as much as we can.
As I have mentioned we are still in the early stages and how it is set up and will run will almost definitely change between now and the start of the event.
So i hope we can see a good show of numbers from the Gothic Wars community, and remember you are free to donate as much or little as you choose and all donations go 100% to the charity.

On the battle of the fang site there is a link along the top banner called "battle plan" that details roughly how the event should go, tried to think of ways that would make it slightly narrative and easy to manage. Still thinking of ways to do it but got a good start now i feel.
here is the post from THQ, and i have a meet and greet set up with Games Workshop at games day, a few of the wolves have already been to their local stores and been warmly recieved and the stores are posting the flyers on the windows.
As an American Soldier who was wounded in Iraq, my thanks goes out to the Space Wolves and to anyone else who participates in this event. I would like to participate as well, and I encourage any and all Raven Guard to do the same.
Well count me in and if i can donate then i will, will also spread the word to the rest of the thousand sons, see if we can get more support from them, if their is anything else that i can do then please just ask ill only be too happy to help where i can

ok sure....although I don't know when they changed their armour.as the battle of the fang wasn't that long after the destruction of prospero I'll check:D
it took place in M32 but im not sure when the burning of prospero was in relation to this. So i couldn't be able to tell...
