As you may have noticed, the Forum Rules have just been updated. There are two fairly big changes that I am here to notify you all about. To see a complete copy of the forum rules go to the Moderation Category of the Help Docs located in the Support Center, or click this link.
The first change is a complete rewrite of the signature rules, located here.
These are the new signature rules, please read them carefully & ensure your signature is in compliance with them.
- Animated Signatures are not acceptable for bandwidth purposes.
- Signatures may not exceed 500 pixels in width.
- Signatures may not exceed 200 pixels in height.
- Signatures may include three lines of text.
- For every 50 pixels shorter then the maximum Image height, you may include an additional line of text, up to a maximum of four additional lines with no image.
- Text is limited to a maximum of 70 characters per line. (Including spaces.)
- A blank line counts as a full line.
- Quotes are counted as an additional line.
- One Line Medium Text = 1.5 Lines of Normal Text
- One Line Large Text = 2 Lines of Normal Text
- One Line X-Large Text = 2.5 Lines of Normal Text
- One Line XX-Large Text = 3 Lines of Normal Text
- Wording in Signatures must be legible to the Moderators and Admins.
- Signatures may look correct in the editor/on your profile, but it only matters if it's correct when you post.
- Do not link to or advertise other gaming communities in your signature.
- Do not link to or advertise Offensive or Inappropriate websites in your signature.
The new signature rules will go into effect 8/1/12, so you will have until then to fix any problems with your signature. Until then the old signature rules will remain in effect.
The next rule that has been updated is the Image Heavy / Large Image rule. A full copy of the Image & Links rules can be found here. This has been a rule for awhile, but until now we had not defined what qualifies as a small/medium/large/x-large image. This update answers that question.
- Image heavy threads must include "Image Heavy" in the title and are classified as such when any of the following conditions are met...
- 4 Small Images.
- 1 Medium Image & 2 Small Images.
- 2 Medium Images.
- 1 Large Image & 1 Small Image.
- 1 X-Large Image.
- Extra Large Images must be placed in spoiler tags. Image sizes are classified as follows...
- Small = 0 x 0 to 249 x 249 pixels.
- Medium = 250 x 250 to 499 x 499 pixels.
- Large = 500 x 500 to 749x749 pixels.
- X-Large = 750 x 750 to 99999 x 99999 pixels.
If you see any threads that violate this rule please let the mod staff know. You can do this quickly and easily by clicking the report post button on the bottom right of any post. Just fill out the small box with "Needs an Image Heavy Tag" or for whatever other reason you are reporting the post. This is the absolute fastest way to reach the mod team.
Finally are two rules that haven't been changed but we will be taking a more active role in enforcing them in the future.
First we have the No Double Posting Rule. I've been seeing more of this lately & as such we have decided to enforce this rule more aggressively, please make sure to edit your post instead of posting twice in a row. Again if you see this please make sure to notify the mod team via the "Report Post" button.
Next up is the posting of challenges in the wrong forums. All challenges are supposed to be posted to the Challenge Organization, Personal Challenges & Competitions, & Spam Match Organization. Again if you notice a challenge post in the wrong forum please use the "Report Post" button so we can move the challenge to the correct forum as quickly as possible.
