Seeing his friend in danger he slashes out at the arm holding the dagger.

The knife in his left hand carries on into the guards head, however the second guard was launching an attack so he moves his right hand with his staff in it to block the second guards attack

He looks at the stumbled guard who tried to save his comrade and decides that this is an opportunity to end this engagement. He pulls the knife out the of the almost dead guards head and goes to plunge it into the stumbled guard to his right

Using his shield he knocks the blade aside keeping now a tight defense aware his opponent is no simple vagabond. Setting his feat he thrusts with the point of his blade at your neck, desperate to end this quickly.

He notices the oncoming attack, it was coming in fast and strong, there was no way he could escape but he tries to escape anyway and rolls to try and avoid it

He rolls and the blade narrowly misses his head, he felt like gods where on his side, but he couldn't stay on the subject to long he needed to end this fight. He stands and backs up and fires a firebolt at the lonely guard

The fire erupted against him searing his exposed skin and setting light to light fabrics. The blast so close, the flash, temporarily blinding you.

When vision returns the guard has managed to get to his feet and recover himself, squaring off against you.

He was getting annoyed this fight had lasted to long already, he may not have time to escape the city before other guards got the area of the fighting. he went in again towards the guard knife going straight for his heart.

Striking in deep the blade finds it's mark. You feel your chest explode then numbness. You look into the eyes of the guard. "That's for Rathen," he whispers in your ear, your vision swims and darkness envelops you.

You awaken. Laid naked on a stone slab. The room is dark but for a three pronged candle stand, lit. You see someone stood with their back to you. By the look of it their riffling through your belongings on a table to the right of you.

He sits up and starts rubbing his head. Everything was so confusing, one moment he was dying and know he was in this room. It was all so confusing. He looks to the mysterious stranger "who are you"

The man turns round in shock. He falls away from you trying to keep as much distance between you both as possible. With a shaky hand he points at you. "You.y.y.y.y your dead!" He flees out of the door screaming "Undead Undead Heeeeeelp."

"Well this is going to be hard to explain"he stands up and to the table where his clothes and weapons are. He slips on the clothes and picks up the dagger and slips it in the holster and picks up his staff and proceeds out of the chamber and looks around the new room he was in.

He finds himself in a small church courtyard. A plaque on the wall indicates that he is at the mortuary. The strange little fellow can be seen returning followed by two priests. Upon seeing you he points. The two priests begin to advance chanting.

He decides that if the man said is true, he was know an undead, then he could bet for sure the priests where doing something to stop undead and from what had happened with the guards he wasn't going to take any chances. He turns and runs into the dark of the courtyard hoping to elude the two priests

You flee into the darkness. The streets all but deserted as most of the population sleeps. After some time it is clear that he has evaded his holier than thou pursuers.

He decides that he must leave the city and head north. He looks down both ways of the street looking for the cities exit

Weaving your way through the darkened streets you see ahead of you the Port, on the east of which lays a manned portcullis-ed gate.
