Long time coming. Good to see all the chapters / warbands getting together for something. Shall be exciting to play old enemies and new.

Best of luck to everyone and I echo comments from above, let's have fun, that's what it's all about.

There are 17 eligible chapters not counting the ones the BA's play from off this site. The following is the proposed system assuming my desired minimum of 16 teams

Playoffs

Pool A: 4 teams
Pool B: 4 teams
Pool C: 4 teams
Pool D: 4 teams

Semi-Finals

Pool A: 4 teams - Mix 1st and 2nd place
Pool B: 4 teams - Mix 1st and 2nd place

Finals

Pool A 1st vs Pool B 1st

 

I am going to allocate teams to a pool, and then let the teams arrange when they play the other teams in their pool. Competition will advance after 3 weeks, if a team doesn't get all its games in then they will have very little chance of advancing.

An assumption of 1 Game per week seems really fair and practical to me. Therefore the entire tournament should last at most 7 weeks. I will advance it as soon as the last games are played, or time limit reached. So we could very well end early.

I will amend this on the last day of June when I know which teams are actually playing.

I really like the pool idea. A lot like soccer playoffs which is about the only thing I like about soccer.

The Fifa World Cup is very well organized which is why I based off it. Also this way you only have 3 games to play in each stage (bar final). Makes it simpler, and from our experience with other tournaments and such, simpler is better

Agreed... Just I have to move house next Wednesday and have broke my t.v and as I don't know when I'll be able to get a replacement then unfortunately I don't know whether I can join the 'thousand sons' in glorious battle.........if you have a mssg for me send it to my GT.... fallenangels95

Oh and an idea for a tournament is that you could do a pre heresy one...IE the old armour sets (red and gold/white for the sons etc....) if you like this the master crafted helmet is good for this as it is a pre-heresy design

Only 4 chapters have signed up so far, check the first post and harass your leaders! Remember that if they don't want to take part, it doesn't stop you forming a member only group! No one is forced to play, but no one should be forced not to!...

Plus I REALLY REALLY want to see one of the small factions whip the shit outta the big ones. I will immortalize it and NEVER let them live it down

I agree...the sons have never been at full strength since the heresy so they are considered a minority against other warbands like alpha legion and black legion....

So far only 5 faction leaders have told me they are playing. If your faction isn't on the list, remind your leader! If they aint signed up, they don't play

Just a note, Cru. I think you got the score limit for Dreadnought a little out of whack. Normal dread games go to 20 points, and I don't think there is an option for 3000. Only 2 points for capping a point and 3 for destroying a dreadnought.

Edit: Probably needs a fix on the victory points as well.
