the man smiles and shango stands, placing a gentle hand on vales shoulder.

 

"come dear.."

 

she says with a smile as she raises her hand up cupping the girls chin.

 

"Lets go home...our buisness is concluded.."

Vale didn't flinch at Shango's touch, in fact she leaned forward as the hand touched her chin. She stood, silently following behind Shango, her hand clasped around Ida's to keep her close. She briefly wondered how different a doll revolving around pyromancy would be fundamentally. Endothermic center, maybe? 

 

She was distracted as she climbed into the call, already planning out the basics of the doll.

its a long ride back home, and mostly everyone is asleep but Zero..... An odd warmth comes into his eyes as he watches everyone relax, and soon enough the car comes to a stop at shangos theatre.

 

 

Everyone splits apart and before she goes to her quarters, shango stops in front of vale and smiles.

 

'Do you want to sleep with me tonight dear? i know today as very hard for you.."

 

she smiles softly and kisses your forehead.

 

"Go take a shower than tell me hun..." 

 

she leaves without a word leaving you and zero alone for a moment as he removes his hood, revealing his bandaged face

Vale's head fell onto Zero's shoulder as she dozed, tucked away in between him and Ida. She had curled up on her part of the seat, her legs partially on Ida's lap with the doll's arms resting over them. When they arrived back at the theatre, the girl only remained standing because she was supported by Ida. She was exhausted, needless to say.

 

As Shango stopped their approach, Vale blearily looked up at her, a soft noise escaping her as her forehead was kissed. She didn't really seem to register the words until after the mistress was walking away. Because then she stumbled over to Zero, releasing Ida to attempt to hug Zero instead, intending to bury her face against his chest. "I feel like she's being too generous at times," she mumbled, her voice muffled. She was being spoiled.

zero stands there for the longest time, patting the top of vales head until he pushes her back ,. just enough that she can look into his eyes.

 

"Shes kind..Becasue she sees alot of herself in you."

 

Zeros mind whispers as he points toward the bath.

 

"SO she wants you to be happy...Unlike she was."

 

Aurora walks by and stretches, letting out a content groan as she says.

 

"id be kind to you too.... Potenmtial like yours doesnt come daily."

 

Aurora leaves without another word and zero smiles, urging her to the door.

Vale almost fell asleep on her feet, her breathing evening out as she leaned heavily into Zero before he carefully pushed her back. She was awake enough to respond by lifting her hand, brushing her fingers lightly over the heavily scarred flesh of her throat. The ragged lines and raised patches skin, permanently tainted a soft pink indicated that they were mostly burns. Shango had a rough life, probably even worse than Vale, she assumed. She had her tongue cut off, and fixed immediately afterwards, while Shango had her eyes popped out.

 

She wanted to return the favor. Vale wanted to be there for Shango as well. So nodding at Aurora and smiling slightly at Zero, the girl and Ida walked into the bath. Her doll needed to be cleaned of the blood that stained her hands. They didn't take long  in the bath, Ida donning a clean suit while Vale found herself a pair of gray fluffy pajamas. Peeking around, she tried to find her way to Shango's room silently. She'd sleep on a chair or something.

the room is empty, the giorl from the tea earlier is in a small cot, sleeping calmly .

 

YOu can see the bed is done up with two pillows, one holding vales pillow from her room separated by a small divider. As you enter the room you hear a shower running, and after a misplaced foot makes the floor creak.

 

"vale..is that  you dsear."

 

she asks quietly from inside the steam filled room

 

."

 

SLeepy?"

Vale made a quiet whining noise in place of a confirmation, still sounding suspiciously like the noise a person being strangled would make. She was hyperaware of the girl sleeping on the cot, so she stood still, too frightened to take another step and make the floorboards creak again.

Ida stood aloof inside the room, resting against the wall right beside the door. Meanwhile, Vale internally panicked, the situation seem so much more stress inducing than just wandering over to her pillow and collapsing. But she didn't want to be judged either, so she crept towards her pillow slowly and overly cautiously. Then, she snatched her own pillow and plopped onto the floor, hugging it to her chest.

Zero comes into the room , brushing his teeth as he is now in a pair of red shorts and a T-shirt

He makes a amused noise and picks vale up, setting her in the sheets before going over to a door and opening it , vanishing inside.

Soon shango comes out, dressed in a T-shirt and some pajama bottoms .

“ oh vale... you’re so cute dear..”

Carefully she comes over and kisses the younger girls forehead .

“ do you need anything ?”

Vale wasn't paying much attention to the door, so when Zero's arms wrapped around her, she squeaked. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, fingers buried in the fabric of her pillow. Then she curled into a tight ball, pressing her face into her pillow as well.

She only seemed to freeze when Shango emerged from the bathroom, even going as far as holding her breath. Vale didn't want to be noticed, but when her forehead was kissed and she was called 'cute', she relaxed a tiny amount. She wasn't being thrown out.

The girl shook her head slowly at the question, glancing up at the mistress tiredly.

Shangobtucks her in tiredly , lays omg the bed and fiddling with a lock of Vales hair before she begins to doze, resting close to her.

“ I love you baby girl.... never forget that.”

[Oce]

Vale makes a purring sound for a minute as her hair was played with, the rest of the tension gradually leaking from her as she settles.

"Good night," she whispers softly.

[Thugren]

You sleep for what feels like days, but when you awake you see that the girl is gone, but shango is still resting .

The mid morning sun beams through the lattice curtains in a way that seem to make shangos face seem younger , as if she had been aged far before her time.

“ good morning beautiful...”

She says with a tired murmur as she opens her eyes, the serpentine wye focusing on her for a moment .

“ did you sleep well? Are you ready to get to work?”

[Oce]

Vale hummed in acknowledgement, slowly reaching out to brush her fingers across Shango's cheek when the woman opened her eyes. Then she rolled over, stretching out her limbs before rolling off of the bed, only partially deliberately. The mattress was too comfortable and she hadn't wanted to move.

There's a groan as Vale lands on her back, but she reaches up a hand, giving Shango a thumbs up. She'd live.

shango stands and ruffles her long haior, ging into her doll workshop.

 

"Well come along than"

 

she says as she looks at the blank doll on the chair.

 

'its time for us to make a soul come to life again."

[Oce]

Vale was slow to push herself to her feet, using the bed as a crutch. She wasn't much of a morning person, but she would be okay if she walked around a bit. So she sluggishly followed after Shango.

It seemed today would be the day she learned how to finish a doll.

The doll sits broken on the seat, it’s chest exposed and it’s makers core empty.

“ you see my dear.... to make a doll for somone with no magical or pshychic ability is hard but not impossible.. you just need to know the font of their power.”

She cocks her head.

“ what do you remember about the old dragon... what was his power

[Oce]

Vale gazed upon the unfinished doll sadly, standing back so that she wouldn't get in Shango's way. Though she fidgeted restlessly, the desire to just help the doll too much to be able to keep still.

She listened to Shango intently, though her gaze never left the husk of a doll. "Pyrokineses," she answered quietly.

[Thugren]

shango runs her hand over the doll carefully, the living porcelain of its body white and smoothe.

 

"good girl..... Now.. Knowing that..What should we do to make sure this doll doest get damaged hmm?"

 

Zero comes in and leans agasint the wall, watching carefully as shango smiles.

 

"think hard vale.."

[Oce]

Vale winced, gripping at her forearms. She didn't really notice Zero, too focused on second guessing herself. She hated being put on the spot, but she understood the reasoning behind it.

"Wouldn't it have to be able to withstand the heat so it doesn't shatter? And probably add a coolant so it doesn't set fire to everything it touches..."
