"We made humans who would otherwise have been killed or predated on into living weapons. Using fusions of dark sciences and ghoul crafting we made people like you see before you....His name is Micah......He is wat we called a conquest golem."

Avalon stared at the boy in the tank. She really didn't know what to say to her father. Maybe changing the subject was a good idea. "Where did Shrike come into all of this...your life in mean?"

He looks at the mask.

 

"its what gives them life."

"A stalk? You haven't told me about them...though if they are spawns of Nightmare....well I can only imagine." She had finished dressing her father's wounds and looked around the room again. An old peculator stood by a sink below some wall mounted cabinets. Avalon sent over and open the doors, luckily finding some coffee packets. She rinsed the machine, plugged it in, and set to making some coffee. It would at least help keep her father awake.

they arent...This one is a construct taken over by his influence. We destroyed it and noticed waht was on its face.....We purified the essence out of it but the actual conciousness of the mask is the original stalk

Avavlon poured a cup of coffee and handed it to her father. She slowly walked over to the mask, still lying on the floor where it had dropped. She didn't have to ask the purpose of the mask, she had been raised knowing it, and know that she had put it on, she perhaps knew more than her father. Shame from breaking her oath kept her from telling her father she had put Shrike on. It had never been meant for her, she was not built for the power. She was lucky it hadn't killed her.....but that boy....he was going to die....so horribly....all of them were going to die, and Shrike said he could stop that.

The mask hisses, raising from the ground on its own strength.

 

 

"Youve hid me for so long.......We have to find the boy......Or were all dead."

 

Your father sighs tiredly.

 

"You saw the future yes...The boy with the dog tags?"

The shame showed easily on her face. Avalon had never been great at hiding her emotions when she was caught. "I.....I wish I hadn't."

he smiles weakly.

 

"ive bourne that memory..That vison for so long now....Ive seen his pain...Ive seen his tradgedy."

 

He covers his face with his hand.

 

"it is our duty to stop that future...it is our duty to make a difference."

"Then why did you not take it yourself? Why not start searching for the boy sooner? What were those things and what did they want with Shrike?" Avalon's mind was racing with questions. Why had they not been searching for the boy this whole time. He could have taught her how to live as a nomad, taught her how to fight and survive. They could have helped sooner.

Yor father whispers, and an instant later the mask affixes to your faces and blasts you with a wearingn pain.



A figure stands in the shadow. It's eyes are blood read and it crouches over the child like some dark fallen angel.

Broken skeletal wings cover the boy from view as the figures eyes narrow.


" go..."

A voice like a thousand crowd screaming growls, a wicked scythe emerging from the bloodied feathers.


Thevworld seems to but behind him. The howling of wolves fills the air as eyes emerge from the dark like a wicked pack of wolves.


Before the vision. Can proceed any further you are slammed back into your body as you notice shrike floating idly in the air.
