The light nearly blinds you bit within seconds you can see theveacybforest all around you.

Ancient derelict wrecks of the humans siege are gathered around the entrance and the eyestalk points northward.

Ghiest he shakes his head at the old wrecks, they'er presence reminding him what happened here in the first place. He lifts himself up into the air to try have a better view for himself. "Well, having a directon to go for is better than none. Might even know where the scorpion might be if it's not it." he thought aloud

arachnus says nothing, disappearing into the forwest as the eye considers him

"ghesit...wait.."

Gheist stopped slithering as the eye stalked grabbed his attention. "Hm? Have something to say?" he asked, wondering why the eyestalk was only talking to him now.

The eyestral;k waited for arachnus to disappear before speaking.

"arachnuses mind...Is deterioprating gheist....I noticed it while he slept. He will go feral soon. I am under the beleif that he was your clutchmate..So i tell yo u this now before he turns."

Ghiest's eyes grew wide at the news that the eyestalk had told him, that Arachnus might not be himself in a matter of time. It took a moment before he could actually form a thought. "If his mind was deteriorating while he was in his recovery state, why did you not try to heal it then? Especailly after all this time?" Ghiest asked the thing, his mood moving from shock to anger.

Yopu notice something, the eyes link to you seems to quaver, as if you said something that it wasnt prepared for.

"Perfect one, perfoming surgery on a mind such as arachnus when i was maintaINING a hive at the same time wouldve ended badly...Surely youd prefer i focus on one task at a time."

If Ghiest had an eyebrow or flesh over his eye, it would have been raised in a questioning manner. "And yet the process to reattach my entire lower half of my body back to the upper half, fixing the spinal column and all the nervous systems between that section and my brain to make sure I could move and act normally was not out of your hands while keeping the hive together?" he asked the eyestalk, unbelieving the creature's explaination as he watched it more closely now.

Ghiest stared at the eyestalk, not sure what else to bring up to test against the organism. An uneasy feeling was growing in the pits of his stomachs about the situation he and arachnus were in now. "Then we wil find more resources and fix the issue. After all, there is plenty of genetic material we can find." he hisses to the eyestalk as he now slithers back on thier orginal route, trying to catch up with arachnus as quickly as he could with out being suspicious.

you mange to get to arachnuses side in time as the eye stalk busies itrself searching for a nearby bird.

"i dont know if youve noticed..."

arachnus grumbles, his voice low and tectonic.

"But that fucking eye is lying to us..."

"Trust me, was already forming the thought after talking with it." Ghiest said to arachnus quietly. "What gave you that thought brother?" he asked him, wondering how Arachnus arrived to the same conclusion he did without speaking with the eye.

arachnuses claws click his slab like plates.

"my plates are like a trees rings brother....each ring and groove tells a tale. Our bodies wheere kept hibernal much longer then needed....75 years in fact."

"Huh, now we have phyiscal proof of it." he hisses low. "He tired to tell me that your mind was deteriorating into a feral state." He told his brother, still scoffing at the creature's now evident lie. "What should we do? I'm starting to wonder if this scorpion really is bezerking or is just setting something up." he brings up now.

arachnus looks sidelong at you and smiles, clicking his fangs.

"The Mountain king already sent us an emissary..."

he whispers, his claw opening to reveal a tiny black scorpion.

"the emissary says not to trust the eye...that it went berserk years ago...."

"Great, we have been following a feral hive node?" Ghiest said as he shook his elongated head, slightly embarressed at the thought. "This leaves us with no lead...again." He hiss in a sigh. Then he looks at the scorpion in Arachnus's hand. "Unless the mountain king might knows something about where mother is, or something that could help at least." he said, not likeing at the idea of walking around aimlessly through the lands.

the scorpion looks up at you, its voice a tiny peep in your mind.

"if you are talking about freya..."


before he can finish speajking you see the eyestalk come into view, ghouls trailing it.

"Hide him, we need to speak with him more." He quickly says to Arachnus before he turns around to go meet the Eyestalk. "This looks....omnious." he says to himself as he slithers slowly to the eyestalk. "Done taking your little detour?" he asked the organism, keeping a good distance away still.

more ghouls pour from the woods as the eyestalk growls.


"it seems you have caught on to my little plan..."

Ghiest looked around and now understands why the ghouls have been gathered. "To be fair, your cover was kind of shoddy to begin with, but I will thank you for bringing me some breakfeast." he said, the grin of fangs growing wider and wider. He springs forth into the small horde, eager to feast now.
