Hi all,

with the release of the fantastic Gears of War Judgement, I wondered how many people would be interested in starting proper gears of war factions on the website. I would be very keen on devoting my time to this, as gears has and always will be, my favourite game franchise.

please or nay, and we'll see whether we can get the cogs in motion...

thanks

JK

Two groups are already created.

Death Korps have a bunch who are going to play it and the Night Lords have a few who play it.

I meant perhaps ordering it, IE - the Coalition, perhaps UIR, and locust horde.

In which case, I would love to hear if anyone would be interested in banding with me and perhaps becoming the COG...

Didn't a similar thing happen with the Halo 4 factions? I don't know if they were ever really active so this I think wouldn't do much for the community as not many play Gears.

ah well, ship sunk then. I'll just go back to my melancholy...

I think that a fair few more people play gears, or at least have gears and would play it more with more structured factions in existence.

Indeed it did, and never really took off. I think what we have going right now is good, though if Gears proves popular enough then perhaps another couple of factions could be drawn up.

Well if you want to go and attempt to create a faction and promote other to create factions by all means do so. Even if it gives a breath of life to the community then it will be successful.

At the end of the day I am one person just saying what might be wrong with this. If you really want to I think the community will support it. Also it means there are more targets for my Hammerburst....

I'm going to go with Nay because when GoW3 came out people tried to drive up mass interest in it and it died out really quick. I detest going through all the hoops of making new factions and then having to can them a month or so later.

However, my predictions can be wrong; Halo 4 fell on it's face almost immediately which was highly surprising, GoW4 could very well last longer than I predict as well.

I would personally prefer to see existing chapters take up the game, and preserve existing membership loyalties than blurring the lines further. The more complex the memberships, the more potential for drama - my personal opinion on the matter

Cru halo 4 dropped on its face becuase it wasn't fun any more and felt like it became a chore...but gears of war though after 2 I stoppef but making more factions with banners...eh seems like a bad idea

Well Halo 4 feels a but more like Call of Duty with the abilities and class changes.

Gears is pretty fun though.

More banners = More fun!

yea its a no, i've run across problems trying to recruit people for the death korps gears section. the gears community itself is very fickle and is hard to get people to join. i had a session today where i was trying to get two people signed up and then i asked which weapon they preferred and one said the gnasher and the other said the lancer and they both left and never contacted me again. the community is already divided and can't co-operate with each other. as much as i would want to see this happen, it would be near impossible.

really? you know how little that is? and besides, if you have all rifle users, there's no diversity to the team. you need front line troops and you need support, that can't be accomplished with just lancers.

Please take the weapon conversation to another thread.

I would rather see current factions diversify their gameplay, as opposed to diluting their members committment by introducing new factions.

Understandably. That also reduces the risk of game clashes. A group won't schedule a match for two games at the same time.

But if there are multiple teams per faction then there wouldn't be a problem with scheduling matches on different games. right?

Yes, but a smart faction wouldn't do that.

I've only ever seen a faction schedule multiple games so more members can play a half dozen times or so - in over a year and a half
