allies. until blood angels get a new codex its had for them to do things on their own. but working in their codex i'd take some death company. no more then like 10 though because they get pricey. blood angel chaplains are still pretty good and sticking them with the death company can come in handy. they do drop pods pretty well since you can do the decent of angels attack. sanguinary guard aren't to bad either but again they can get pretty points costly at the end of the day.
I hope you aren't saying that the Drop Pods can do "Descent of Angels." Pg. 25 and 50 of the Blood Angels Codex states "DoA" for Assault Squads and Sanguinary Guard. Pg. 43, 45, 51, and 53 states that four Special Characters can "DoA."
Pg. 32 with the Drop Pod entry does not have "DoA," but instead has the "Inertial Guidance System."
Not trying to be an ass, but from your post, that is what it looks like you are saying.

Land raiders can deep strike.
You want some vehicles, basically.
You need your head examined - CruciasNZ
Authrix stop making me spill things on my laptop with what you post - Pony

You get a tactical squad (ten men)
Death company (5 men)
Assault squad (5 men)
Rhino APC.
Worth the money, plus you can usually pick them up much cheaper on amazon / eBay.
For HQ choice it's preference. I started with Tycho, then built a custom Captain, built a custom Reclusiarch and have purchased (yet to paint) Mephiston. I'm also planning to build Dante from spare Sanguinary guard and death company bits.
How many points are you looking to go to.
I disagree with the need for allies. Blood angels cope well on their own. That said long range fire support from Imperial guard or dare I say it Tau, would compliment them well.
When you're done with the battle force and HQ you have a solid choice of troops and then can expand into the other areas. Heavy support I have a predator, dreadnought, Vindicator, Devestarors and a stormraven.
Fast attack there's Baal predators, veteran assault marines (I think called veteran vanguard now) and the usual space marine vehices, bikes skimmers etc.
As for your elites, fluff wise sanguinary guard, but I find they're not that great. Terminators is the way to go. Especially if you drop them from orbit in a landraider for lolz. Plus landraiders are transports on BA codex opposed to heavy support in C: SM
They are a great army, but I admit they find it difficult against shooty armies as they do best up close.

If you we're planning on using a chaplain (or rather Reclusiarch) as your HQ then they're 130 points basic. Add to that terminator armour, a terminator assault squad and a land raider that's 610 points alone. You haven't bought your obligatory troop choices (of which you must have two) yet.
You could get round this and have your large DC by having say 10 DC and a DC dreadnought (both troop choices). Totalling 935 points. You can use the rest to beef the respective units (drop pod / rhino for DC).
This would be a kill everything force as not one model can capture points, merely deny them to the enemy.
