Wulfric sheaths his sword and puts his shield on his back, drawing his hammer he strikes at the second and third step

Upon hitting the second step, nothing happens. Upon hitting the third step ....... nothing happens.

"hmm" wulfric starts up the steps using the haft of his hammer to press his weight on each step before stepping onto it

In a 'whoooosh' of flame, Wulfric is vaporised before the rest of the group. Once the flames dies down he is gone.

"what just happened?" cyriene calls out in a panic

" By the Emperor!" Exclaimes Lord Ralthen "his, gone! Wulfric! Slain!"
"It was the third step my lord" Yaris called out.
"What are we to do?" Asked Theldon
" You said you fell a long way Cyriene? Is that right?" lord Ralthen asked her.

"yes 40 or 50 ft at least, im pretty sure the tunnel i followed after went downhill too, there must be another way?"cyriene takes care not to take any further steps until told so

"I see no other way. We must solve this puzzle. Cyriene what do you think? Wulfric was, burned, on the third step."

"perhaps every third step is trapped somehow?"

IT SEEMS EVERY SECOND OR THIRD TIME I STEP AWAY, FATE IS THERE, WHITHOUT A DOUBT, TO TRAP MY COURSE.

"Damn it!" Ralthen shouts, "The answer was right there before me. I could have saved him!"

"so what do we do now? We cant go back..can.we?"cyriene asks lord ralthen.

"No, we can't give up now. We go on and up. Make sure you miss every third step." Drawing his sword Lord Ralthen continues up the steps followed by the guards.
"Don't worry Cyriene I shall guide you over the steps." The cleric reassures her.

[Talon Lord Othrim]

The group make their way up the steps taking care not to stand on the steps that Lord Ralthen indicates. At the top of the stairs a solid wooden door, bound with iron.

cyriene places her hand onthe door and listens carefully before turning to lord ralthen."do you think we can get through this?"

[Talon Lord Othrim]

He tried the door but it will not budge. "It feels to be bar'd from the other side. Men?"

The guards move forward and begin to shoulderbarge the door. On the third strike the door swings open and the guards physically fall through.

Cyriene hears

"Wulfric, you bastard!" Yaris laughs

Wulfric chuckles and helps Yaris up "up you get yaris those snotlings are sneaky little bastards that trap transports you into a room full of pits and a small way out" he says indicating the way he entered the room. "ho there Lord Ralthan sorry for any worry, you look like you made it unscathed up the stairs. Well the only way forward is through the steel door over there I just havent gotten round to trying it yet."

Ralthen is clearly happy to see you alive. "By Sigmar I thought you dead for sure." He looks to the tunnel Wulfric mentioned but there is no sign. He looks around the room. "This section and those beyond the puzzle locked door seem far to elaborate for those green skins. Cyriene you mentioned a monk beyond that of death. Did you get a name or did it speak of anyone that may reside here?"

"no...no names, he was waiting for his queen"cyriene sat on the ground trying to remember what she could. " I think he has to summon her" she added as she remembered his cold words.
