So I picked up my first Stormtalon and got to assembling and painting it. Aside from sticking the tail on backwards (zoned out and forgot GW designed the Talon to have a sloping FORWARD tail >"< ) it went pretty well.

I have not glued the canopy on yet because I want to touch up the model with a wash first to even up the black paint. Also I have still to buy masking tape in order to paint the canopy struts. One new thing I tried was to wash all the silver components with Badab Black, resulting in the engines actually looking like engines as opposed to showroom items.




As you can see I went with the Typhoon Missile System option, my friend Tau and a Heavy 2 Krak (St 8, AP 3) weapon will instant kill everything in his army aside from tanks. I intend this to be my counter to his Plasma Rifle Crisis Squad (aka Terminator Killers aka Fire Knife). I haven't decided what it's sister is going to wield, I am teetering between Lascannons or another Typhoon - will wait and see how this one fares.
