I think its funny when someone says that a jedi is better than a spacemarine. i ask well how so, there respond, well they have the the force, so spacemarines have psykers which have a crap ton more insane powers, them oh yeah well a light saber can cut a chain sword in half, listen bitch one of too things will happen one they'll put a bolt round into they're head before they get within 50 yards or two do you really think they need a chain sword to beat down a jedi

Lets just say this Jedi gets unbelievably lucky and survives the salvo of explosive hell from first our Space Marines bolter, then his bolt pistol and gets close enough for his lightsaber to be effective. One of two things will happen, either; Jedi shits himself into a coma from post human shock or takes a limb from our brother, only giving him a weapon to bludgeon the little prick to death. That, I'd pay to see! An Astartes beating the shit out of an old man with his, still armoured, severed arm in a fit of rage!

SM sv Jedi, Most Jedi would be a fairly even fight - A lightsabre is probably equivalent to an AP2 power sword. But that means getting within a few metres of the marine - his squish zone. Yeah. Either the Marine's walking away or no one is.

Well jedi are special but they are still humans space marines however are post humans they are better in every way. Aslo are we talking about movie marines here as they are asbout twice as powerful as tabletop marines.

One shot hits Yoda and he's dead.

Also, Marines never operate alone unless they are Captains, etc, and even then they will probably have someone nearby or an honour guard. Captain vs Jedi would be a very different matter to Battle Brother vs Jedi.

Also, Movie marines are way more than twice as powerful as TT marines. Try twenty times more powerful.

Jedi. One simple reason :

The Force.

It can crush platforms. Topple Star Destroyers. Crush windpipes. Etc.

You put Revan 20ft away from a Marine and that Marine is being crushed inside of his armor like a pancake.

The force really depends on how much can be focussed at once, and how much the jedi can command. Assuming both see each other at the same time, The marine's going to be able to get at least a couple of bolts off on semi or full auto, and is pretty likely to hit. One squished Jedi as he tries to focus the force (which will require him to stand still and focus on it), making him a sitting duck for the marine while he lines up his shot.

Bring in special characters like Revan and Tigarius, and it's a whole different game.

If it were a sith however there would be more ways to die. E.g being roasted in your armour and something so deadly:

The sith can harness more power through anger to creat a storm which can flatten continents. On major scales it could dent a planet. But this is sith only.
