[Thugren]

Nyx awoke with a start. A cold sweat beaded her skin as she looked around her palace looking for any sign of an intruder. Finding no one she lets out a breath and stands walking to the window.


The dream had been vivid, the scream of a great wolf , the death of a god rang I her ears.

Coreus, the guardian of the America's had fallen, and you, the ghoul queen if Serbians north felt his passing as you would any other guardian.

" queen Nyx..."

A gentle and familia voice chimes.

" are you ok?"

Nyx hums quietly and lets her eyes take in the world outside the window.

" I suppose so... "

Nyx shuts her eyes as she speaks quietly, as if an intruder could hear her if she spoke above a whisper. She crosses her arms over her chest and opens her eyes again to continue to watch the world outside her window.

The light shuts off and the presence fades. The night is cold. As is most nights in this part of the world but something is amiss. The undead, your family, are restless. Each of their minds scream out into the blizzard, a terrified voice of horrible fear.

Nocturne ..


The name sends a tremble of fear up your spine as you hear your servants scream out as one.


Your mother, the mother of all undead, the end bringer. Her very name is enough to make even the strongest guardian quake in fear, but your servants scream of her return.


In the distance a pair of eyes break you from your dark musings. Fafnir, your old protector walks through the snow toward your home.

A frown creases her face at the sounds of despair coming from the undead, but a wave of relief washes over her at seeing Fafnir. Nyx gives a faint wave and ponders whether to go out into the cold or wait in the warmth of her home for Fafnir to come. She guesses it would be rude to stay inside and goes to the door. She opens it and takes a few wary steps outside onto the frozen ground. She tries to silence the sounds of warning in her mind as she continues on cautiously to greet Fafnir.

As he resolves himself in the blizzard you can see that age has done nothing discern able to the great wilds size. Even sitting back on his hind legs fafnir doubles your height , and his thick black fur could even put the darkest satin to shame.

" so I'm guessing you heard it too young one?"

He rumbles , his voice gravelly and tectonic like the earths crust.

" it seems nocturne has awakened."

Nyx nods and exhales quietly, her breath drifting into the cold air in a small white cloud. The wind begins to pick up and she has to squint past the curtain of hair fluttering in front of her eyes to see Fafnir, towering over her as usual.

" Yes, it seems so... " Her voice is barely audible over the howling of the wind.

" What are we to do? "

The elder wolf sighs , his jaws dripping with spittle and he answers.

" if nocturne is indeed awake than we must move. I've heard rumors.... Some patriarchs say that Coreus isn't fully dead. That a human carries his essence i his body.if this is true we must find this human."

[NyxAcerbus]

Nyx hums to herself, more for reassurance than anything else. She shifts her gaze to the snow and thinks before looking back up.

" Do you have any idea where this person might be? "

Fafnir shakes the snow from his fur

" nocturnes army... In its entirety move to converge on the America's .... We believe that Coreuses new body may be a purifier known as Cain.... The humans whisper of him... Saying that the men bearing the seal of caldeanna trapped my brother in him."


Caldeanna... The name makes you start. Caldeanna is the mother of the patriarchs , the only reason that the humans survived after the end days. Her birthing the patriarchs and breaking nocturnes control over many of the royal ghouls is the only reason you stand a free woman of your own free will.

" some say my brother went mad, whatever the case may be we have to find this human

Nyx nods in understanding.

" Yes, we must. " She wraps her arms around herself and looks off into the distance. Nothing is visible past a wall of white snow being blown by the furious wind.

" We must go soon, then. This matter seems very important... "

Fafnir licks his lips

" sooner than you would think. I've dug up two of your fathers toughest grave guard.... They will awaken shortly."

He gestures with his head at two coffins in the snow.

" do hurry the ship leaves soon."

" Of course...Thank you, Fafnir. " Nyx smiles thankfully at him and turns her head to the two coffins. She treks to them and puts one hand on either one. There is a silence that is only broken by the wind as Nyx shuts her eyes and taps her fingers on the edge of both coffins, her nails tapping in a synchronized rhythm.

You know their names before your fingers even touch the coffins ..



Johann ... A powerful flayer that had served your father his entire life, and beaowulv a loyal stalker ghoul that had protected you many times in your teen years.

The coffins open with a low click and their occupants awaken, creaking their jaws as they rise

Nyx removes her hands from the coffins and straightens her posture as she watches the guards rise. She holds her hands behind her back.

" Welcome back. " She says, her tone a bit cheerful at seeing Johann and Beaowulv again, but grave at the task ahead of her.

[Thugren]

The guards nod silently as fafnir cocks his head.

" yes yes it's good to see everyone happy can we get moving? Unless you will be going to America in a nightdress and unarmed ."

[NyxAcerbus]

" Of course. Come, we must be going now. " Nyx turns on her heels and motions for Johann and Beaowulv to follow as she begins to trek over the frozen ground.

[Thugren]

Fafnir grips your fill collar with his teeth stopping you.

Go inside.. And change your clothes.. If you freeze your body will not be able to heat itself so dress warm."

" Humph. Alright. " Nyx grunts as she goes back into her palace to change. The first thing that comes to mind is just to find warm stockings and a heavy jacket to put on, along with her usual dress.

She changes and returns back outside to where Fafnir and the others are waiting.

[Thugren]

Fafnir stands and turns away from you, the lights in your estate turn off as fafnir turns his head to you.

" I will lead you to the the boat.. When you leave the undead will go mad and I will have to protect our humans.... Find my brother madam.... We do not have much time."

[NyxAcerbus]

Nyx nods.
"Please make sure that everyone is safe when I am gone." She says before turning her gaze to the white and frosted landscape before her.
"Let's get going." She says.
