Yesterday I went into my local gw, I wanted to start up 40k again so went to buy assault on black reach. They guy there said not to bother as they're replacing it with another starter set soon.

I got to say those are nice models.
It's just unfortunate they are continuing down the path of specific chapters. 3rd Ed starter kit was Space Marines (and Dark Eldar) so you could use them for any chapter. These models, while admittedly amazing, are of limited use to those of us who are already established.

For someone just starting up, Dark Vengeance is a great deal based on the mini rulebook alone. The fact that the Chaos sculpts are (generally) awesome is icing on the cake.

Yeah, Chaos got the better end of the deal for sure. Not that I dislike the DA stuff.....No, wait, I do dislike most of it. Still, I can see where big DA fans can get behind it. Just not for me :/

I might get it for Xmas if that's the case and order assault on black reach set. That way I have more Sm and I'll just convert the Da.

Final Vengeance is LIMITED EDITION (well the Chaplain is anyway, the rest apparently will be in seperate box sets in future, dunno about the mini rulebook though), its £60 and you get £200-£300 worth of stuff! BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!
And Im a Blood Angels player, Im converting ALL of the Dark Angels for my army, the Chaos Models if you dont want hold onto for several years until you might want to use them or trade them with somone else with Vengeance and get more of the models you want.

I might just sell the chaos ones to build up my sm chapter and guard sets. But dark vengeance is only limited ed with the chaplain. The normal 1 isn't
