who has any ideas for weapons or rules for my mercenary datasheet - 11 guys mostly guard-style. any ideas?

Maybe you could combine the rules of the last chancers of 4th ed imperial guard codex with the combat doctrines of vet squads in 5th. (the grenediers, scout, demolitions.) How is that a start.

You have had pretty good replies. Mercs generally have better gear but less skill than grunts. Look to the inquisition and guard for ideas. Last chancers and Gaunts Ghosts are food basis for stats

If you want a band of individuals a good basis is the Last Chancers from 2nd edition. Their rules are in a White Dwarf... I wanna say like 270ish? I would have to dig them out to check.
