Howzit brothers? :P

Wondered whether anyone has star trek online? I've just started playing it myself, and I think it's phenomenal for a free game.

Joker is not far ahead of you so don't worry. I would advise you only buy endgame stuff. You level fast.

Must haves:

Borg Bridge Off
Delta Flyer

If you want to play escort buy:

Sao Paulo
Thunderchild
Defiant Retrofit
Armitage

I cannot help with the other ship classes

No, we're all members of another fleet. STO Fleets don't do lend themselves well to small numbers. We're mostly in a fleet of 400-500 dedicated Trek Nerds.

We consider it our release from work on this community, it's nice to slip away and blow up Borg for an hour or so here and there.

Yeah I can understand that. Most of the big battles i have been in so far, I have either had no effect, or I just picked off in the opening salvoes of torpedoes and stuff :L i have to say that the ship to ship combat is amazing though

If you are flying Escort put all cannons in front, and all turrets in back. Turrets are not available at lower levels, so take beams instead. Single Beam, and Dual Heavy Turrets.

If you are playing Sci or Cruiser then you want Beam Banks + 1 torp.

Remember to turn into the damage and soak torpedos on full shields. Get a Sci Bridge Officer (BoFF) asap with Shield restore abilities like Science Team

Thanks :D i keep wondering whether it will be a good idea to change to an escort and have two photon torpedos on the front and a dual phaser and then some form of cannon as rear defence? With my tactical officer that should mean that a frontal barrage with their ability would be four torpedo shots and a dual phaser at the same time?

I'm a tactical officer with the Defiant retrofit escort.

I have a quad cannon and three dual heavy cannons in the front of my ship and three phaser turrets in the rear. This means when I fire a full volley forward, I shoot 13 shots every trigger pull.

It's epic.

You are going to need a small craft for some of the later missions. I would avoid a shuttle though, get a runabout or a fighter.

two forward facing weapons and I think one bridge officer, one tactical console, and one science (or engineering, I forget) console.

They're pretty puny :)

Oh that's cool, I will get one eventually, it's just a matter of when I have enough zen tbh

I was looking at the delta class shuttle or the peregrine fighter

The little shuttle is Delta Flyer. It has more officer slots than most, so more powers
