Was wondering if anyone has come across any Mechanium dark or otherwise, rule sets. I love modding and a magos his adepts and skitarri would be an awesom challenge to not only field but create.

I agree....you could ask your local Games Workshop....but I don't know

That would work....as traitor guard are the same as IG but have lower morale. And have no commissars etc... The dark mechanicus would compose of tech priests etc... So you'd have chaos titans and dark tech priests etc...just convert them...and it seems your GW crew are a lazy lot lol

Have you tried Forgeworld's Imperial Armour books? They might have something for Mechanicum... Failing that, go with guard. Just spam Stormtroopers for Skitarii and use techpriests I guess.

A long shot could be trying your own, taking stuff from the Guard codex, etc, though your mileage may vary in regards to who will play you.

I think those Sisters of Battle things which look like mashed up flesh with whips and blades are in fact Skitarii.

Nope, Arco flagellants. At least, I think that's what you mean.
These the guys you mean?

Skitarii are pretty much just guardsmen with extensive bionics.

As far as my knowledge goes gamesworkshop are unlikely to ever do a codex for the mechanicum as the only time you see their forces are when a forge world is being invaded (i could be wrong), but in the mean time check the Tempus Fugitives site as they have come up with rules on using both the dark mechanicum and the adeptus mechanicum aswell i believe

Using the imperial guard codex and simply using "counts as" is your best bet. This way you can play your army against anyone with forcing home made rules on them. Skitarii are now storm troopers, your leman Russ has legs instead of tracks or what have you.

It is always best to see if an existing codex works for what you want to field before looking for home brew rules. I did that for my Inquisition army and never had a problem with tournaments or pugs.

The Vostryan Firstborn are a cool model range, too. You could really go to town on them and make a cool looking AdMech force.
