The forces of chaos, always unstable, undergo constant power struggles and the Warmaster cannot always assert his supreme authority. Out of this dissent and lust for glory in the name of their deprived gods, a splinter group broke off the main Crusade.

The Dark Crusade bogged down through Imperial determination and faith, while this splinter enjoyed success attacking other sectors. This perceived superiority allowed the Splinter to grow into a warband, and then into it's own front in the Dark Crusade.

In order to maintain already precarious unit cohesion, the Warmaster is forced to treat this upstart whelp as an equal. However, as the Gothic War continues to rage into the new Millennium, lines and allegiances have blurred or changed with time. With all sides being congenial in the light, but plotting the downfall of their rivals in the dark, who knows what the new millenium holds for the Forces of The Imperium; will the forces of Chaos fold to dissent as they have always done? or will this be the time where the Imperium yields first?

The Inquisition continues to work tirelessly and heroically to undermine the forces that are arrayed against them; they assume nothing, and suspect all. They begrudgingly admit that the Warmaster known to his followers as 'The Talon Lord" has already outperformed their original estimates, but this new Warmaster, the one curiously known as "Spinysnafu" might be a point of concern.

The Inquisition have therefore tasked the Emperors Angels of Death, his glorious Astartes to bring this new Warmasters forces to justice. For the glory of Him on Terra, The Imperium shall triumph!
