I'm a little disappointed there's no direct matching between old and new paints and I must say that getting rid of the need to mix takes the skill away.
Not feeling it to be honest.

I have a small amount of the old stuff left, and I augment it with Testors paints, which I personally like working with

It's about time they done this. Their paints have always been crap compared to other brands on the market *cough Reaper Master Paints cough* lol. I have a shit load of the old paints and I use them once in a blue moon. Some of the new paints I was reading about sounds like they may be worth picking up but I will be waiting till I hear some customer reviews.
I could set up a page with all the new paints on it in one column, and reviews of the paint in the other. Be quite a bit of work, but that might help the community out (I would need the reviews given to me)

Though, you would be waiting a while from me because I'm quite happy mixing my highlights for the time being and I don't need any other paints.

Theyve re-done the whole paint system.

They did do a direct match between the old and new.

That shows all the old and new names of the familiar paints. I'm happy with this as the paints are one of the few things I still buy from GW. Foundations and shades are all great! I haven't used other manufactures paints very much but those I did I wasn't a fan of years ago so never went back. I also don't paint to a Golden Daemon standard by any stretch so many other paints are better for that.
Damn few, and they're all dead!

They do mention that, although they've tried to get a match, there s a slight difference between the colours (hence the rename) because they've used a new 'formula'.

Either way, I'd love to try out the new paint

That could be a real problem mixing old models painted with the old paints with those painted with the new stuff eh? With the likes of Chaos or Space Wolves 13th Company (which I play), it's not a big deal, but armies that stress uniformity could have issues with that.

Apparently, they've made it a near perfect match but I'll be so disappointed if Caliban Green is not a decent match to Dark Angels green; I don't want half of my army a slightly different shade to the rest of them.
I am looking forwards to trying out some of the foundation paints though. Not too bothered about much else, I'll probably still mix my own highlights and what have you.
