So the GoreFather piece, from my Angron model, broke off a while ago. Before I could repair it, the piece was misplaced. Forge World can't help, so I'm looking for any alternatives. Anybody got any ideas? Scratch building or taking parts from other kits are the extreme last resorts.

Warhammer bits are hard to come by, I have always found Bitzbox and bitzbarn to be the most reliable. After than head to eBay

Throwing it out there...if you're willing to do some conversion work, you might find a good base piece from an old Mageknight or Heroclix figure. At my local hobby store, they have a huge bin of used ones that have yielded some great base pieces
Otherwise, ebay like Cru said
