Right was hoping to pick people's brains, I am a complete technoob.

I am thinking to trade in my iphone 5 for a Sony Z2 when my contracts up for renewal.

One thing that concerns me, I use FaceTime quite often as my daughter thinks it's hilarious.

Is there a program or app that anyone knows of that I can use with the Z2 to video call a MacBook? Free would be ideal but if it's something for a reasonable price I am ok with that as well.

Skype would be the first obvious one, however there are a LOT of them.

 

I would suggest that you look at a Windows Phone 8 device as well. A lot of salespeople overseas don't bother trying to 'sell' them to customers because they don't know as much about them and the commissions on Droids tend to be better. Android is alright as an OS but it has a lot of issues, prone to crashes, hacking, poor quality apps, patches can be slow to fix bugs etc etc. I find WP8 to be a better phone, and the selection of apps cover what I want out of a smartphone. Basically shop around and try different phones and operating systems.

cool cheers Cru I will take a look at those as well.

I am mainly tired of the iPhone, my 5 has been ok, but the battery sucks big time, even if I am not using it and all apps are closed, I have turned off all locations services and some other things but the battery is still meh! camera has just failed as well.

In that case WP8 devices are best, because the OS is optomised for lesser hardware spec it doesn't need quad core processors and hundred of GBs of RAM to run - means it runs faster for longer on cheaper hardware
