Alright, If you cannot tell by the title above, this is just me seeing if anyone else has similar choice in video games, feel free to ask if anyone plays your favourite game.

Anyway, here is a list of games I feel need more attention:

Europa Universalis IV, a game about being a country from 1400 to about 1600 or 1700, I forget. Think of this game as a Civ 5 for grown ups, as it will beat you up with its complex mechanics and excessively large amount of menu's. But then, as all hope seems to be lost, and no fun in sight, you will suddenly get its mechanics, and everything gets amazing. This game will also make you a xenophobic racist paranoid, and be entirely right in your beliefs (never trust France. Or the Spanish. Or the Portuguese, or the English, or goddamned Austria, or anyone and anything.)

Crusader Kings 2, It is Europa but in the medieval period. Focused less on the countries as a whole, and more on the inner makings, like the king and his vassals. Prepare to backstab with the best of them and watch your house of cards crumble, while you meander around the rubble wondering what the hell brought you to this mess you call a existence. 10/10 would play again.

Dwarf Fortress, a game based around losing. Free to own in its full form, mostly to do with it being AC II graphics (read, non-existent). But if you can get past the huge learning curve there is a lot of fun to be had with making a large underground fortress mines of moria style, until your fortress collapses from one of the many threats in the game. It also has the most extensive combat system in anything ever, as you can sever anything on the body (it even tracks everyone's teeth separately!)

The Men of War games (Assault Squad is the best one): think company of hero's with more micromanagement. Every soldier has a limit to how much ammo they have, and have their own inventory. You can also directly control troops on the battlefield, causing as much havoc as possible (which is quite easy, as it has a full destruction engine!). Only problem is the difficulty and the minor bugs.

Of course there are other games I like, but the idea are these are a tad more obscure, or cater to a niche market.

Would like to hear if anybody plays these, or knows of any other hidden gems!

Games I play online would be:

Company of Heroes

Blood Bowl

Dawn of War Soulstorm/Dark Crusade if I'm up for it

If someone wants to World in Conflict

Probably have a couple of others but I'm mainly an Xbox 360 player at the moment...

If you don't mind older games I'd recommend Age of Wonders. Its Role Play, Strategy, Fantasy and turn based game. Quite old as it came in 1999 and the campaign if you ask me was ridiculously hard. Played it on normal but saw level 3 units mixed in with their armies charging my army of Archers and Swordsmen... Age of Wonders is on steam and I imagine its pretty cheap. It also has a nice amount of spells for your heroes and leader, summoning Dragons, Elementals, frogs, spiders and being able to flood an enemy territory. Also with Dark magics you could make other races slowly hate each other EG Elves and Dwarfs who are normally allied to start off would eventually hate each to the point their cities would revolt against them or Light Magics could cast a spell which makes all races get along much better which is strange when you have Highmen units traveling around with Undead units...Only thing is that it crashes from time to time on Windows 7 (The OS I'm using) because its an older game =/

It also had a good soundtrack for the game.

Online games I currently play:

  • Hat Simulator Team Fortress 2.

  • World of Tanks, not so much recently.

  • Tomb Raider.

  • Dawn of War 2: Retribution.

I mostly play games for campaign, and in that respect the list is endless.

I am just saying, the point is to list obscure games, or niche games. The ones you have listed are really not.

Yay me for not understanding the point of the thread what so ever XD

I'll try again:

Thing Thing 3

Thing Thing Arena 2

Clash of Clans

And I could probably list a dozen others but for the life of me I can't remember after Oblivion absolutely destroyed my mind...

I believe it was more the Shivering Isles that destroyed your mind. You know when you attack Sheogorath you are stuck in that spot until he tells you that you shouldn't have done that and then you appear high above the ground and fall to your death. Enjoy.

After the first time I noticed one of the corpses wearing jewelry... So I did it several more times just to figure out where that place is and go there :D

Well I was just randomly exploring and found it. I was rather confused. Later I attacked Sheogorath and then realise how the dead people arrived there.

I barely like League. I play it for the friends, not the game

Yeah, I can get behind that. I have more friends that play league over DOTA, but I prefer Dota as a game.
