Summary: Someone missed a bill payment for the 'use' of system defended by the AI Police force as a 'fleet park' for ships that are too big and powerful to dock or despawn when you log out. The result is that the immunity of said system lapsed allowing the enemy of the indebted alliance to enter their system resulting in the largest space battle EVE has ever seen.

• Lasted 21 hours
• 75 Titans destroyed (previous record was 21)
• 13 Super-Carriers destroyed
• 370 Dreadnoughts destroyed
• Titan superweapons fired 775 times - more than the past two years of gameplay combined, 24% of all firings ever
• 55 Alliances under the four banners involved
• 717 Corporations (Guilds) involved
• 7,548 Players involved
• 11 Trillion ISK of destroyed assets (~$330,000 US as you can buy 30 day timecards and sell them ingame on the market)
• Developers will create an orbiting 'graveyard' to commemorate the fight
• Ripple effect sent through entire EVE economy

Single check-box. Auto-payments can suspend for many reasons, they missed a routine check to ensure all was well. Gotta admit though, it was very "Galactic Empire" of them
