Well guys, I've decided to try and stop my drinking completely for at least a year. After going through a car windshield, getting into too many fights to count and always being strapped for cash I think it's time for a change. When I got back on the site I tried my hardest to be a better person and not get into arguments and cause grief so if I can manage that I can manage this.

Some of you may be thinking "why the hell is he telling us his personal shit?" Well the reason is that I have a request of this community.

As much fun as it is to joke about my love of alcohol or my drunken antics I would ask you to please stop or at the very least tone it down. It doesn't offend me or anything I just don't want to be tempted to pick up the bottle. A nice chilled can of fosters is tempting enough by itself so I would really appreciate it. I'm not saying for good, just afew weeks so I can get used to being sober.

good for you fuzzy, this is a hard decision to make, and you will be tested at times and tempted, but you will persevere and be better off for it, good luck bro. You have my respect for doing this , not that i dont like drinking, but any time you give something up like this weather its junk food, fast food, soft drink, alcohol, its never easy. again good luck and you have my respect and support if i can help or anything like that

Thanks buddy, no one has given me abuse and everyone has been really supportive and respectful of me which I am eternally grateful for.

It may seem silly but the messages of support really are encouraging me to push through and not give in. I think I should be alright and it should be clear sailing after this first week or so.

Edit: I made this thread however just to let you all know that I would greatly appreciate it and it would help me if the alcohol references aimed towards me could be toned down just for a little while so I can "get over the hump" as it were. Not that I don't appreciate the support and messages of good will because I really do but I just feel like an attention hog when people start commenting and that wasn't the purpose of this thread. I just wanted you to be aware if what I am trying to do.
