That pretty much answers that. They are not going to redo anything. They are standing by their ending. They intend to release more stuff to answer questions that people want answered. The whole "What happens to everything else?" part. The game itself is very much going to stand as it is.

What a real shame, still won't stop me playing through it again and again but would have been nice to be able to enjoy everything after Cerberus base. After I hit London it turns from WOOT to MEH and I loose the drive

The game is spectacular, and with the exception of everything after London, is by far the best game Bioware have produced. Actually it's probably the best RPG ever made.

Now if only we can convince the thousands of other gamers out there who are making these attacks on Bioware to look at the pointed out section in the quote I can actually view the Bioware forums without every thread bashing the endings.

“Victory does not always rest with the big guns:
but, if we rest in front of them we shall be lost.”

The cupcake part was entirely entertaining. Good on that guy I commend his ingenuity and approach. The guy writing the article though...

Of course THAT man is going to say sending cupcakes is the last great hurrah and now the fans deserve to get their way. I bet he could eat all of those cupcakes himself, probably wanted to.

Jim Sterling is often called out on his size, he's used to it. He's a very opinionated Brit and boy did the fat jokes fly when he reviewed GoW3 and gave it 8/10.

eh either way they are in a bad spot especially since one of the writers came out and said that only Casey and the guy that wrote the last book cant remember his name wrote the ending and the rest of the team never saw it.

Could that be a lie? Sure it could be. But playing through it the game takes a major dive once you hit London the fact that no gaming site touched on this and gave it great reviews is just a joke and a sad one at that.

My literature teacher gave us an hour and a half speech about how not to end a story after he saw the ending...... I never want to hear that speech again good sirs. lol

I feel for you on that I really do. Especially as I don't see why a literature teacher is giving credence to a video game. Does he also teach how other video games are stellar examples of literary devices utilized to tell a story? I prefer my literature teachers to teach about literature.

And if only two people were responsible for the ending, then two people were responsible for the ending. What it comes down to at this point is it is a business. If they go "Oh all right" to the fans and change the ending. Then they have lost all control over their games forever, because they will have set a precedent that if people complain enough they will change it. That's bad business. Means fans can then complain about ANYTHING and expect to get what they want. As a corporation they need to remain strong, say "I'm sorry" to the angry fans, and move onward.

If the fans are that upset and don't want to buy anything else from Bioware that's their loss as Bioware may release other great things that people are overlooking due to one misstep. Though odds are people won't turn away from Bioware for this, they are raging, because they can. When Bioware releases something new and enjoyable this will get pushed aside as people revel in the new thing. This is why people just need to relax, accept that ME3 is what it is, and wait to see what happens next.

Well 1. even though it is a game they do have scripts and are written like books so they do have to more or less follow the rules to good story telling.

2. No that's the company's loss remember they want your money and at the moment its the die hard's that beat the game in 2 days and own all the DLC and every other game Bioware has made that are complaining the loudest
as Forbes said losing that Loyal fan base is not something you want.

(that being said I feel the need to state again I like the endings right before Starchild shows up hell I would rather of seen Necrons start invading with no explanation then that little glowing bastard.this was pretty much how i saw it.
Spoiler

The difference here Nox is that BW built that game up so that the story enthralls you. Then they released possibly the most spectacular ending ever created in the history of Video Games... and gave it an Ikea Bargain Bin ending.

So on one hand if they bow to fans they open the flood gates, but on the other hand it is their fault and they should fix it.

Back in the N64 days, if someone did this with a game they would go bust as no one would buy the next game. BW is too large for this and they ride mainly on their reputation. They need to do SOMETHING and I would prefer it to be a fix to the end.

Perhaps a DLC like Darkspawn Chronicles where you play as other people, perhaps the team members from 2 you never got (Grunt, Samara, Jack, Miranda - Kasumi wasn't on Earth). This DLC will be set in London, and would have those people fighting in the big epic battle that we saw in the cutscenes, but never got to experience. The ending of this DLC could show what happens after.

Doing it that way would give you the ending the story and fans deserved, while not bowing to the mob and overwriting the existing ending. (Which in my opinion needs to be deleted anyway, but this suggestion is for a reasonable compromise)

They have already stated that they have lots of DLC planned, that people seem more intent on speaking poorly of before they know what is coming out. Any number of things might be in DLC for ME3.

As for Bioware itself, I don't believe people will stop buying BW games based purely on the ending of this one. Games piss people off all the time, but people go back. Hell I played WoW and it infuriated me on a regular basis, but I wanted to see what exactly they had done rather than just give up and move on.

The people infuriated enough to complain are the same people that are going to want to see what else Bioware does, because 99% of the Mass Effect series they enjoyed. To then turn up your nose at the company would be like going to an ice cream store, trying every flavor, loving them and when the company releases a new flavor. A single new flavor. You don't like it and decide you will never eat their ice cream again.

People are upset. I think Bioware gets it. Harassing them and beating the dead horse is just stupid. People should put on their big boy pants and wait and see what Bioware does next, instead of crying about it.

I am disappointed they have played down the outrage the community has shown. They chose the only proper way to continue the situation (DLC not re-write) but they should have been more honest.
