Now that the site is rapidly expanding to other games I feel it's time to start activating the Community Manager positions that we've mentioned before.
We already have Kieya managing RP and doing a great job; now we want someone to handle the Space Marine (2011) section. (They will "transfer" over to SM2 should that game release as THQSledgehammer hinted).
Basic Job Outline
- Organize Random Events
- Organize and Run Regular and Varying Competitions
- Assist New Chapters Founding
- Assist in Chapter Activity Auditing
- Assist in Inter(& Intra)-Chapter Mediation When Requested or Required
- Keep Forum Sections Tidy
- Assist/Collaborate In SM Inter-Community Events (such as Battle for Fang)
We're looking for someone who has a bucket ton of enthusiasm for the game and greater community and who thinks they have what it's got to deal with the daily BS and get the job done. It will help immensely if you're a people person, but only if you don't always seek approval - this job will attract spite from those you do not support in arguments, you need to be able to handle this.
They don't necessarily have to play the game regularly to do this role, so it might be good for someone who loves playing but is restricted by other commitments. That means it's largely a desk job for the benefit of the rest!
Job Restrictions/Conditions
- Aged 18 or Over
- Speaks and Types Usable English
- Has no serious Mod infractions
- Has no serious "history" with any chapter still a part of GWRS
- Acceptable Leadership References (if Applicable * )
- No history of tunnel-vision regarding incidents **
- Has regular access to website
- Can use Teamspeak for meetings (mic or type acceptable)
- Level headed and professional approach to conflicts
- Not a Leader, XO or existing Staff Member
Note that this job can be done with a Chatpad or USB Keyboard and the Xbox 360 running the dashboard update with Internet Explorer (currently in beta). So in the future you will be able to use Xbox, PC and Smartphones - you choose your medium of work that bests suits you, PC is only required for some high end access, file upload and Staff Meetings.
** We need to make sure that you can think for yourself on the faction issues you encounter rather than "follow the leader". Being able to hear both sides of a story, and cut to the truth of the matter will be critical to dealing with situations. Often you will be called upon to explain to other Staff what the hell is going on when things explode beyond normal control.
* Note on Faction Membership
Factionless status is preferred but not compulsory and this will not be held against applicants. As long as the Council approves your appointment, you may continue to hold your chapter membership and position. However due to time concerns, you must be of Officer rank or below.
We expect this positions successful applicant to put 100% effort into this role. If your chapter is based off-site, then you can still apply and we will contact your chapter Leader for a character reference as to your organisational and leadership skills, plus historic forum activity. However, activity on that factions site will not count towards your job here, you need to be able to split time to meet both GWRS and your factions requirements. Please discuss your application (before submitting) with your leader if you think it might cause issues.
How To Apply
Hit "reply" and copy the obnoxiously large form from inside the quotes (2nd Post), and paste it into a PM and send it to CruciasNZ (Tickets don't use BB Code hence PM - Bold, Bulletpoints etc). Make sure you preserve the formatting, we will notify you if you foul it, but only the first time.
Fill it out to the best of your ability, how you sell yourself will be a large contributing factor in selection. Also note that the Council will be issued copies of applications, so please be aware of that when filling it out.
The Staff will review all applicants and eliminate those that do not meet the "background check" requirements (Infractions, Poor Conduct, Leader Character References). Once the list has been whittled down it will go before a majority vote on the Council.
You will be notified upon receipt of the application, but will not hear the outcome until the applicant is selected. Be aware that continuously pestering Staff or Leaders for update will count against you.
Finally, thanks for applying and taking the time to fill out the form. Your dedication to the community is appreciated.
