So I casually fired halo 4 up and I am constantly met by the message
" cannot connect to halo 4 server..." but my connection is more than fine! Has anyone else had this issue?

Same problem over here, open Spartan Hub go to network and change settings to Xbl. Should get it.

I have to say, hving such issues not so long after the game has just been released doesn't put me in massive faith with them, especially as they are handling one of the most revered games in history

This is one of the recurring problems Halo 4 has, you share this one with Koko. Try set your Xbox to a static IP on your network (wired or wireless) and then set that IP as a DMZ in your router. I do not know if this will work, it's just the step we plan on using to troubleshoot Koko's issues.
If you do not know how to do this, or have a friend which can help you, we can help you further but it's a bit tedious so ask around first.
