I was just bssing around one day, having read a Ciaphas Cain book or two lately I decided to introduce him to the game. So now you folks can give the poor man even more trouble and send him onto the front lines.
Commissar Ciaphas Cain, Hero of the Imperium- 185 Points
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv

Wargear:
Laspistol
Chainsword
Carapace Armor
Frag and Krak Grenades
Independent Character, Healthy Caution, “Look Out Sir!”,My Reputation Precedes Me, Advance In Another Direction, Hero Of The Imperium, Aide-De-Camp,
Healthy Caution:
Cain is completely obsessed with possible threats to his person and is as such, constantly on the alert in a combat zone and is very rarely taken by surprise, as a result, all of Cain’s saves are invulnerable.
“Look Out Sir!”:
As a result of his overblown reputation, combined with his skills as an able dissembler and his penchant for fair treatment and care of those under his command, Cain is adored by the rank-and-file guardsmen. Once every turn the player may choose to allocate any wound made to Commissar Cain to any friendly Guardsman within 4 inches, this overrules sniper and assassin-like abilities
My Reputation Precedes Me:
Cain is an excellent orator, skilled at inspiring troops to fanatical courage, purely as a means of providing more bodies between his and the shooting. As a result all Guardsmen models within 6 inches take all morale tests at Leadership 10, excluding Cain himself as he doesn’t believe half the propaganda he spouts.
Advance In Another Direction:
Commissar Cain is a man who knows when it is a good time to get out of a bad situation. Whenever the state of affairs looks bleak is a good time to leave, this thinking has saved his life on several occasions, of course considering Cain’s luck, there have been a number of times where this has brought him straight to the frontlines. As a corollary any squad to which Cain is attached may choose to re-roll or fail any morale test, they may also elect to use a scatter-die to determine which direction in which to fall back and may reroll rallying tests even if below 50 per cent.
Hero Of The Imperium:
Commissar Cain has gathered for himself a reputation for heroics and incredible loyalty, one he feels is undeserved. Not all of Cain’s reputation is just hype however, he is an incredible swordsman and marksman both of which have been factored into his stats, however, his primary goal is to defend himself, and as such if he should lose a wound, he also loses one attack as he attempts to fend off enemies without risking his own skin.
Aide-De-Camp:
Cain is at all times accompanied by his majordomo, Gunner Jurgen. Jurgen may be purchased as an upgrade for 45 points. Jurgen is required to stay in coherency with Cain at all times and is treated as a retinue, they are both counted as one unit, in the event that Cain is removed as a casualty, Jurgen must be as well, as the ever loyal Valhallan follows his commander off the field to tend to his wounds. Jurgen’s Statistics are as follows;
Gunner Ferik Jurgen, Aide to Commissar Cain- 45 Points

Wargear:
The Emperor’s Little Helper
Flak Armor
Hellgun
Frag and Krak Grenades
Independent Character, Blank, Through Hell And High-water,
The Emperor’s Little Helper:
For ten points Jurgen may elect to bring along his favored weapon. This aging meltagun has seen better days, despite its decrepit appearance and the fact it’s being clutched by a Valhallan with a scent like unwashed feet and alcohol scented farts it is still quite deadly and ready for combat. This Meltagun can, and has, been used in close combat, it counts as a Powerweapon and is resolved at strength 8, but, compared to the size of the man wielding it, is bulky and unruly, and as such is used at initiative 2 as Jurgen brings it to bear. It cannot be used in concert with any other weapon when used in close combat.
Blank:
Jurgen is a rare type of anti-psyker known as a “Null” or “Blank”, any psyker, including friendly ones, within 6 inches finds concentrating exceedingly difficult, reducing his leadership for psychic abilities by 2, if the Psyker is within 3 inches of Jurgen, use of psychic abilities is technically impossible as he attempts to cope with being so close to his own anathema. Any Psychic abilities, including friendly ones, used on Gunner Jurgen or any unit he is part of simply fail to work. Any Psychically guided or controlled enemies within 3 inches, such as non-Synapse Tyranid Bioforms and Wraithguard revert to unescorted behavior.
Through Hell and High-Water:
Jurgen is absolutely loyal to Cain and would only part company with him by direct order from the Commissar himself. They have been together nearly their entire respective careers, as such Jurgen must maintain coherency with Cain at all times and if the Commissar is removed as a casualty, Jurgen will follow suit to tend to the Commissar’s wounds.
