Looks good. Interested how they gonna do it without it looking like alien. One crew decimated by an alien

I'm rather blah on this, while the trailer looks spooky and all that. The ship where Rippley and them found the Alien in the first place was an Alien ship in itself, not a human one. So any prequel to Alien should be devoid of humans.

Well in the 1st alien, the ship was sent specifically to that area under the pretense of a distress call / salvage if i remember right. The Corporation already knew that the alien species was there so in a way this should explain how they knew of them.

I feel that would be more easily explained by doing it entirely from the Alien's they found dead perspective and have it end with the distress signal or what have you going out and being picked up by humans. They should know the ship is extraterrestrial. I feel knowledge beyond that is stretching it, as while the Android did have the mission to study the alien thing, he didn't know anything about it. Hence there should be no initial contact for them to have learned anything from, and if the distress/salvage was for another human crew totally wiped out, there should have been a human vessel on that planet for the salvage crew to find first.

If you watch the trailer carefully you'll notice that they're investigating the ship that crashed on LV-426 while it's still in space. The expedition is probably why the ship crashed on the planet in the first place. The prequel is mostly about the alien race (Space Jockeys) that were transporting the xenomorphs in the first place.

Edit: The official HD trailer for Prometheus is supposed to be released sometime today (Thursday) on http://trailers.apple.com/

Ah that makes a little more sense then. The skeletal/fossilized alien at what looks like a cannon is quite an Icon image.
