I am currently experimenting with the idea of forcing login to view the board.
Pros
* Stops people spying on the forums casually and copying ideas or penalizing members.
Cons
* Means new and prospective members have to register first
----
What do people think? Would you prefer login forced or just an open door policy.

I like it, if they dont then they wont sign up. If they do and dont like it, in 30 days they will be purged anyways.
