Hey everyone, just wanted to post some pics of my table top army and encourage others to do the same! These aren't your traditional black templars, so bare with me here...

Predator tank (magnetized turret and sponsons) still needs a few things done yet so its about 95% done.

These are only a few samples of what I have done. The army is going to be completed by the end of January as I am rushing to get it done so I can start playing. They are painted to tabletop standard and not much attention was given to details. I do wish I could spend more time on them, but if I take my time, they will never get finished. This is my first army as well and I am learning a lot of things along the way to help improve the next army I paint. I have taken a lot of heat over the intensity of the glow and some unrealistic qualities (glow above the eyes, lack of detail in the tabards, etc.) which I do acknowledge but cannot devote the time to correct right now.

I still have a couple squads of bolt pistol/close combat weapon initiates to paint, a couple more 5 man 2x cyclone missile launcher squads, and a scratchbuilt marshal (magnetized with multiple arm load outs) to finish. For Christmas I am getting the rest of the vehicles I need to finish the army (Land Raider Crusaders, Land Speeder Typhoons, and Razorback/Rhinos).

I will post more pics as I complete everything and a final shot of the army in its entirety. I am always open to comments and criticisms as it will only help me improve my painting skills. For now, I think this is decent for my first army!

Here are the Nurgle goodies I have painted so far. These were done for a 350 point skirmish battle a local store hosted a couple months back. I plan on doing more Chaos after the Templars are finished. These are not plague marines that are sold retail but regular Chaos Space Marines with some greenstuff added to make boils, growth, etc. Enjoy!

Can you believe I am not very happy with them? There is so much I wanted to do but due to time constraints (the army will be finished/painted by Jan. 14th - 2000 pts) I have to rush it. That being said, I plan on using this army as my tabletop army for the time being while slowly painting Templars 2.0 staying true to the original color scheme. I may opt for bone instead of white to give the "ancient" look but we will see. I expect the new army to take me around 1-2 years to complete but in the end it will be worth it. I am entering the Golden Demon this year at Games Day Chicago so I am very excited for that as well.

I will post pics of the army after it is completed as well as my Golden Demon entry so you can see what I can really do :D

Since I am more into the hobby aspect of 40k and the fluff ( the game is just a bonus ) I will be redesigning my blog to be more of a hobbyist corner where I can show off my work and tutorials, etc. I cannot wait for this army to be completely finished so that I can just get back to doing what I love, painting and modding models. I want the freedom to paint whatever I want, however I want without worrying about rules, army composition, etc. I just want to create and paint for fun/competition.

I am going to hold off on starting a new Templar army until the new codex hits and I can see if it is even worth diving in to. When I do decide to start a new army, it will most likely be Chaos! I had a lot of fun with the Plague marines above, and would like to create a chaos army led by Abaddon. This army will compose of all different legions which united under Abaddons banner and will allow me to have an army with all different colors in it, rather than the same basic colors you see in an army. I like variety, both in looks and having to actually paint it. Again, building another army will now come second to just creating and painting for fun/competition.

For my gamesday entry this year, I am painting an Ork Weirdboy, which I am actually painting for a friend. I told him I had the sweetest idea for a display and that I would make it for him but to sweeten the deal, I would enter it in the gamesday competition first just to see how far it will go. I plan on starting that in Feb. which will give me plenty of time to get it right! I think you guys (and gals?) will be blown away by this! Anyway, thanks for the comments and support, now we just gotta get Dannis on here showing off more of his latest stuff!

Very cool Templars. If you live close to Nashville, TN, I'd probably pay you to paint my Blood Ravens.

Keep up the good work. This kind of stuff inspires me to get better.
