Im gonna be busy for the next couple of weeks with exams so will be on this site rarely, however I will keep discussing and sharing painting methods with you. I will also post my sanguinary guard when Ive finished my second one and took pics (first ones not as good, I did the gold and white differently and now the second one is already looking amazing)

How to paint Red Gems:
Refer to this image of a large gem to help:
Spoiler

•Base coat of chaos black
•Base coat of Mechrite Red foundation, leaving the outer most edges of the black
•Layer of Red Gore over all the Mechrite Red
•Paint a curved L shape (I usually have a reversed L) of Blood Red, have it reasonably large and thick, touching the top of the gem and the left edge
•Do the same thing with Blazing Orange but thinner and less long
•The same thing Sunburst Yellow (or Golden Yellow, I cant remember, exeperiment with it), bur even thinner and less long
•Then a single Skull White dot or dash on the middle top of the gem, opposite side to the bright colours beneath it.

In my method I dont use any varnish, I think its cheating. If you look at my models you'll see they look shiny naturaly.

How to paint Gold:
Heres a LOT pics of my Sanguinary Guard as an example: WARNING: VERY IMAGE HEAVY IN SPOILER!

Now this advice is refering to the Power Fist wielding Sanguinary Guard, as the one previous is my first attempt at proper eavy metal class gold, the second is better and is using the method below.

•A base coat of Khemri Brown foundation
•A full layer of Dwarven Bronze
•Paint Tin Bitz into the recesses, such as edges or carvings
•A full layer of Shining Gold over the Dwarven Bronze, this has to be a solid layer so you may need 2 coats
•A complete wash of Gryphon Sypea, this has to cover all surfaces evenly of possible
•The a highlight of Mythril Silver, notice on my Sanguinary Guard how its highlighted mostly one sided, as if the light source is coming from a primary direction, this is the most important part but with what I've seen with your highlighting its not a problem

How to paint White:
This method is impossibly easy with the new foundation, in fact, its not even a method. Its just so easy. The Power Fist wielding Sanguinary Guard uses this technique.

•Base coat of Chaos Black
•Highlight of the NEW White Foundation paint, Ceramite White

Just look at the comparison of Sanguinary guard to see how hard and bad my old method was, it had 5 layers before.

Yes but if you look at the first Sanguinary Guard you notice the shanded recesses, thats very difficult to do after the white, so I do it first and the white straight over. Thats why I love the fact its a foundation.

purple: liche purple
liche purple/bleached bone 75/25
liche purple/bleached bone 50/50
liche purple/bleached bone 25/75
wash leviathan purple to restore the purple dont use white as itll make the purple chalky even with a wash over it

just about to start my next project will be a converted crimson fist with power axe and storm shield
