Sanguinius was gifted the Spear of Telesto soon after he was found on Baal by the Emperor, he does use the Blood Sword, he gifted the Spear to his Chapter Master.
Draco you should have the rules for the spear in the Tempus Fugitive rules. I think its rules were a Master Crafted Relic Blade that causes Instant Death.

no - in there it has him using the blood sword - but the fluff i read said that he used the spear during the heresy

no - in there it has him using the blood sword - but the fluff i read said that he used the spear during the heresy
There are a lot of conflicting opinions on that, definite fluff states that the Spear had been recently recovered (if you have read the first Blood Angels omnibus). But what mostly states that sanguinius used a sword was the famous image of Horus about to battle the Emperor aboard his flagship with the corpse of Sanguinius laying next to his broken swrod.
also the spear's rules are under the Chapter Master, as he has it.
