Hit the wall...

 

 

Trying to get an image to change based on entered keys, so basically looking forward/backwards/left/right and am still stuck on it because the pre-made engine we were given doesn't have any way to let you have one object/entity have multiple content forms.

 

Guy next to me (2 person team (and we're both first years...)) is trying to create a hit box directly in front of the player of replicate an attack, unfortunately we cant find a way to move it yet directly from current position the player...

Although it did take me 4 hours I FUCKING DID IT!!!!

 

All it can do is constantly move towards my current position on an x and y plain but FUCK IT I DON'T CARE!

Shooting coke cans with the nerfgun I brought with me. There's several towers of 9 coke cans tall all over the place.

 

Got the hitbox halfway there.

 

Gave up on trying to change the image, it would mean rewriting a lot of complicated shit.

I'll tell you now sleeping on 3 swivel chairs is not easy.

 

Finished the game, which isn't bad considering it was just a team of 2 first years against teams of 4 including some third years.

 

The game is Chicken with Insta-Kill KitKat, it's a game where you are chicken wielding a KitKat and insta-killing enemies (your games title is decided by words you bid for in an auction, Chicken, KitKat, and Insta-Kill). It's really simple but hard, one guy sat down and played it for 10 mins so it's definitely addicting trying to beat your score. Nothing compared to some of the third year teams though, one made a game where someone on a mobile device sets traps and enemies on a map and the guy on PC has to navigate through them.

 

I consumed 4 coffees, 10 cans of coke, one large pizza, 2 packets of crisps, and miscellaneous sweets. This kept me awake for a whole 40 hours until it was over. I feel like my life has been shortened by 10 years
