I am wondering what programs some of you guys use to make stuff as I have just been using paint to make stuff (which is less than good for it)

Here is the best I have made in paint

Photoshop CS6 (although it's expensive as hell, my Uncle let me have his version for making his book cover)

Spoiler

The problem with it is is that the zoom works TERRIBLE compared to CS4, you have to click the magnifying glass then select in and out and etc. I much prefer it when there's a box in the corner you just click a plus or minus on to zoom in or out.

Got any free alternative you would recommend? I am only just getting into this so would not want to through money at it yet.

GIMP 2.0 is free and comparable, however its unwieldy and not completely user friendly, but it does the same. However if you have a tablet your looking for let us know and theres a few I could suggest.

What about Paint.Net? Has some extra features that Paint doesn't have =)

It is free as well =D

I never liked the interface of Paint.net, I only use it for turning file types into images then editing them in photoshop then back into their file types for making skin mods in WoT.
