So I've been playing the open beta weekend for FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14) as they are rolling our progress over to actual release next weekend. The ARR bit stands for "A Realm Reborn" as this is the second time it's been released. 2 years ago they released it and while it had many amazing facets, overall it was garbage; so they withdrew it and spent a year bringing it up to speed and the results are amazing.

Sadly SE games have rules about recording and screenshotting game content during open beta, so I cannot share with you some of the epic moments I've had. Suffice to say that the gameplay is astounding, but it has a true FF storyline (well multiple actually depending on class, city, and grand company you choose) but the eye candy is geek-porn level. I was in the Pirate City and a fog rolled in and couldn't see shit after 10-20m.
