[Thugren]

For the first time nightmare stood before his assembled captains .

There were five of you, each one taken from a cult that had offered up a son or daughter to the hungering God.



You stand perfectly still, the steady drip of the leaking pipes can be heard behind you as a figure comes into view.

His eyes are like smoldering coals. His skin pale white and flawless.

Nightmares gaze seems to burn wherever it touches and for a moment , his gaze centers on you.

" step.... Forward.."

The burning gaze felt like no more than a tingle due to the adrenaline coursing through Ashera's body. Very few were chosen by the Great Lord and out of all the people in her community it had been her and now she was privileged with his presence. The honor was nearly overwhelming but she kept herself focused and calm as she complied with her masters command. She stood tall, but she had always been told that you should never meet the Great Lord's eyes unless he told you otherwise so she set her gaze a little below the glowing embers.

From behind the lord a cloaked figure comes forward.

His features obscured by a heavy hood of human flesh, but you can see his eyes are canine. To you and your initiates this man was known only as conquest. Lord nightmares final rider, the doom ringer.

" you will ride with conquest..... Do as he says to the letter.... Fail me even once and I'll strip you down to your nerves and keep peeling until I find the imperfection of failure.


Conquest grips a heavy axe fr the wall and begins to walk past you.

"As you command, my lord." Ashera bows deeply. Spinning on her heel she followed suit of her appointed commander and pulled an appropriate weapon from the wall. She caught up with Conquest halfway down the hall he had taken to get out of the main chamber.

as you walk past the door you see conquest standing.

 

"Do me a favor....call the other initiates before me Girl....>Post haste."

"Yes, Lord Conquest." Ashera about faced and walked back into the main chamber. Her master had finished his business, having most likely given assignments to the other as they were moving to leave from another exit. "Lord Conquest wishes to see you all." She gestured down the hall she had come. "Presently." She watched the other candidates like an eagle watches prey. Her loyalty was only to Lord Nightmare and she did not trust the others that had been deemed worthy. She did not move to lead them down the path to Conquest, she would follow.

as you lead the recuits into the room conquest stands, gripping a ghoul by its whispy hair.

 

 

"I want you to take a look at this......THis is the last recruit squad leader.."

 

The ghoul spits and snarls, straining agaisnt conquests grip.

 

"THis is your fate if you continue to displease our master..Am i understood."

 

The other recuits look ath the sight in awe and fear, nodding.

There was no fear is Ashera's eyes as she watched the spitting snarling ghoul. She would not fail her master and if she ever did she deserved the punishment sent unto her. There was no room for the unworthy in her master's ranks and she would prove that her body and soul were his to command. She would deliver his wrath to any that were deemed unnecessary. With a pack nearby with some rations and a blade in her hand she was ready to move out with Conquest.

conquest dispatches the ghoul by gripping its upper jaw and ripping it skyward. The ghouls eyes blink as the body slumps and one of the initiate wretches.

 

 

"Youll regret that...To the pain pit.."

 

He growls, as he turns to you.

 

 

"Come....We have to go to the flesh pit to retrieve somehting."

"Yes, sir." She picked up the pack, throwing it over her shoulder as she followed her commander. Ashera was patient but she did wonder what it was that Lord Nightmare wanted accomplished, but she would find out in due time.

[Thugren]

you are lead through the hive . ALl around you , ghoul queens tend to clutches as massive flesh heaps fester in the distance. You are lead to a massive cave and conquest stops.

 

"Im going to go in and come out with something...YOu are going to kill it.....Am i understood."

Ashera threw the pack aside, her weapon ready in her hand. "Fully and clearly, sir."

COnquest walks into the pit, and comes out with a ghoul. At one time, it was female. But after months of neglect, the only thing left of this husk is the ghoul within it.

 

 

WHispy whitye hair clings  to its emaciated skull, its teeth are splinterted and broken. With A sickening slap , the massive warrior crushes the ghouls ankle to a pul, forcing it to kneel.

 

"Kill this ."

 

He says , his voice resonant wit hthe same damning finality of a guillotine.

 

'End this creature."

Ashera acted out the command without blinking. Her blade came down into the ghouls neck in a solid two handed swing. There was no eagerness or excitement in her eyes, simply the sharp look of determination. She did not enjoy nor hate her work, it was what she was raised to do and she did not question it.

the ghoul hisses, and gradually goes limp in your hands.

 

 

"Good girl....>THat was the woman who gave you to nightmare....Not a single second of hesitation...YOull do well."

 

He crushes the ghouls skull under his heel.

 

"If youre going to be a ghoul queen, you are going to need to study ghoul creation...and poart of making ghouls is knowing how they die...Next time, aim directly for the skull, witrhout grey matter, the ghoul cannot live

She looked down at the corpse of the woman that had been her mother. "I will commit it to memory, sir." The was a tiny feeling of gratitude to the woman she had just killed. She had been a guardian, not a mother. She had molded Ashera, taught her to fight, kept her focused, and trained her to be fierce and loyal to only one master. With her training she would not fail her master.

conquest crushes the skull like a ripe grape.

 

"What kind of weapon would you prefer girl..."

 

The ancient warrior grumbles tiredly, shouldering a massive broadblade.

"I have always done well with bastard swords and a dagger as a secondary, sir. Would you have me fetch those and meet back with you?"

[Thugren]

"If i wanted you to do something would i have not told you? "

 

HE motions at the dark and a hunched, inhuman being shuffles over, a large bundle in his hands.

 

 

"The nightmare edce and ghouls kiss my lord......"

 

He simpers, bowing his head.

 

"The last of the armory from Galthenna."

"Of course, sir. Forgive my presumptions." She watched the ghoul awkwardly make it way to Conquest.
