I awoke, heart beating fast in my chest while my breathing was heavy. I had that dream again, the mystery woman that seems very familiar, asking or forgiveness , the shadow figure holding a mystery blue velvet ring box in hand who's killing the poor lady. I've been having these dreams for some time now and I set it to be my goal to find this woman, if possible I will save her from the grasp of the shadow. Only 2 days ago I gained another clue to where I may find this woman. An older woman in a nearby store that a girl that fits my description lives just a house a few blocks from where we are. It was just today that I had built up the courage to confront this house and the mysteries that may lie within it.

I've walked for nearly an hour now and I have come across the house I believed to be right. I stood there observing the features of house, there were flower gardens surrounding the house, and the house had a fresh red trimming. I kept having this feeling that I knew this place but I couldn't remember why or for what reason. As I kept taking notes of the house, a man in his mid 30's came up to me.
"What are you doing," he asked in a questioning tone.
I didn't answer his question, instead I asked, "Do you know who lives here?"
The man stood there for a moment studying me as to check if I am dangerous. But given a little amount of time he turned to the house and said, "the engaged young couple who just moved here a few months ago."
"Engaged you say," not taking my eyes off the house.
The mans face turned slightly concerned," Unfortunately they had a huge fight about a week ago about her cheating on him. Apparently the boy stormed out of the house after and hasn't been seen since."
"How unfortunate," I replied.
"If you don't mind, may I ask your name."
I turned away from the house now toward him and smiled, "Stan Delmen."
The mans eye grew large and he stepped back. His face grew red and sweat started trickling down his spine. He opened his mouth to say something but before he could, I was already knocking on the front door.

Nobody answered the door, so I knocked again. Click! The door swung open on its own. I walked a few steps in before I saw it. On the floor was the blue velvet ring box but that was not all. Leaning against the wall next to it was the man of the shadows. I starred at him for a long time but he never gave me a glimpse. I looked away to observe my surroundings, noticing that the mystery woman was nowhere to be seen. Turned back to the shadow and asked him in the calmest voice I could, "where is she?"
He didn't respond. I asked again raising my voice, "where is she."
Yet he still didn't respond. Now I grew very impatient.
"What did you..." I was interrupted by the figure. He was no longer leaning against the wall and his arm swung to his side and his finger hung over the box on the floor. He spoke, but the voice sounded inhuman and a bit eerie.
"The box is the truth," he said still not even bothering to give me a look.
I was startled by the eeriness of the voice still ringing in my ears but I shuffled towards the box, keeping an eye on the figure while doing so. Reaching out with my left hand I snatched the box. Moving just a few steps back I looked down in my hand, the blue velvet shinning with the small crack of light coming from the opened door. I started feeling nausea in my gut for I felt something was wrong. Slowly lifting the lid, a small object came into view. It was a diamond ring but really caught my attention was a note taped to the roof of the box. It was addressed to Jenna Delmen.

I couldn't breath, my knee collapsed and I dropped to the ground. It was all clear now, the dreams, the box, the familiar house, I was the missing boy who was to be married. Nausea has now become overwhelming but I fought it back. I was sure what I had to do, I needed to save my wife to be by wiping out this shadow who threatened her. Pulling my self back up to my feet, I stood face to face with this shadow figure.
"Where is she!"
Yet there was still no response. Instead there was a whisper in my head telling me to kill him and been done with the problem. I waited a moment but the rage was now overwhelming and I charged. I shoulder tackled the figure and he went straight to the ground. I pounced on top of him and place my knees on his arms to keep him from moving.
"I will ask once more, Where is she!"
He didn't respond. With out a second thought I smashed my fists into his face, left, right, left ,right. Blood was spilling out of the shadow and a faint weep was in the background but it wouldn’t reach me. Again and again I hit him until I ended it with my final blow that would crack any mans skull. It was over. The shadows body grew limp and his heart stopped. As I fell onto my side next to the body I looked once more into his face. He was looking at me with a tear rolling down his cheeks. Another whisper came into my head but it was clear. "She is dead."
Everything turned to a blank after hearing those words.

"That's all I can remember Doctor," I said in a calm voice.
"I see, well I would like to ask you one last question Stan."
I looked at him, questioning what this man may be thinking. "What is it?"
Shifting in his chair and looking me in the eyes he asked, " Do you know who this shadow man was, do you know who killed your wife," he asked in a serious tone.
I didn't hesitate to answer, "He was evil that all I know about him, but with no doubt in my mind I know he killed her."
The doctor sighed and sat back in his chair. He pulled out a cloth from his pocket and wiped his forehead with it, carefully placing it back in his pocket.
"Listen to me carefully Stan because I am about to tell you something very important, the truth."
I only starred at him but I gave him the nod to let him know to proceed.
"The shadow man that you keep talking about doesn't exist, he didn't kill Jenna."
I Stopped him with a bark," Ha, if he doesn't exist and he didn't kill Jenna, who did!?"
"Stan... you killed your wife."
